Excuse my ignorance. What exactly does a fuel rail do? Benefits?

yes, for sale
200.00
This fuel rail will provide higher volume of fuel to the injectors and allow for a return style system if you choose on adding an external pump.
Higher HP bikes will be best off with this. I believe its a better solution then added fittings to the stock rail.
Plus they just loook so nice.

Very nice Compton!
I know how FI works however I'm missing how the fuel leaves your rail and connects to the injectors.
Can you post a picture of the connectors and the rail by itself?
It may be obvious and I'm just not seeing it, if so excuse my ignorance as well.

Here is a pic of the mount that i used, and you can see the injector in the hole in the bottom.

Since I'm looking at throttle bodies, has anyone used Factory Pro's Velocity stacks?
Are they worth the asking price?

safest way would be a welded -6 bung on the stock pump housing outlet. they are around 8 dollars. run a -6an line up to the rail, and dead head it by putting a -6an o ring plug on one side.
or you could do pushlok hose, clamped to the stock pump housing outlet, up the rail. and plug off one side with the -6an plug.

rail looks like a trick piece. if someone wanted to change injector size are there any that are stock size that are 4-600cc that will work or are on the market for your rail? thanks in advance.

I have a fitting for the stock pump housing and a line. You would just run the rail without a return for 100% bolt in.

Compton, with this aftermarket fuel rail, what kind of performance gains can one expect from just this mod alone and is an after market, higher flowing fuel regulator and fuel pump a requirement with this rail?

alone by its self you wont see any gain. its made for bike that need a larger fuel system.
depending on your application, but yes a adjustable fuel pressure regulator and a large pump, either intank or external would be needed too.

So you're saying that with more fuel being provided to the engine, there is nothing to be gained from it, (HP) etc with a custom map to make there is more air to accomodate increased fuel?
Would a 1417 or 1450, etc benefit from this fuel rail or would one be necessary for that size engine?

a fuel system doesn't "MAKE" you more horsepower. it simply allows your engine to make more horsepower by providing the fuel. If you are making a lot of horsepower (or just using more fuel by switching to e85), you'll need an upgraded fuel system to supply the extra fuel. So, your fuel pump will need to supply more fuel, you'll need larger injectors to supply the fuel to the cylinders, larger lines perhaps for increased flow, and maybe a larger fuel rail as well. This one is nice because it already has a fitting so you don't need to tap the fuel system if you want to run wet nitrous.

correct, this just makes things easier and looks nicer when adding a return line to the fuel system, perfect for boosted apps that want to run a rising rate regulator, or big motor or spray bikes that want a good bump in fuel pressure by using a 1.1 regulator instead of doing guess work with crushing the internal regulator
