Brocks Track map No Filter

How many of you guys using Brocks exhaust are running no filter at the track?
Basically my bike is track only these days and i run a BMC race filter, i've had it in there for 2 seasons and only collected 2 bugs and no noticable dirt when i removed it this winter.

I bought a used sidewinder(brocks) and the maps call for no filter, i felt a little uneasy about running this way so i came up with a compromise.

I took my OEM filter off the shelf and removed all the pleats, then i took some aluminum window screen cut a little over size and folded in the sides and JB welded it to the filter frame, put a aluminum wire down the center for extra support.
This screen should catch all larger particles, bugs, little stones, etc.
Going to spray it with WD40 to catch as much dust as possible.
So what do you think? Better than no filter?

I have taken a zx6r fuel pump housing and put the 08 internals in it. The 600 fuel barb on the bottom is about 1/2" shorter than the 08 zx14.
Can't tell how it works yet(not driven yet) but the bike does run with no noticable difference.
