Tyres

I have been keeping notes of all info on this site on tyres .This is it so far ------
Shiko 190/003 ultra soft 15 lbs
Metzler dragteck 13.9 lbs
OEM bridgestone 13.6 lbs
Pirelli dragon super corsa 12.6 lbs
Mitchelin power race 12.5 lbs
Mitcheli 2CT race ?
Conti sport attack ?
Mickey Tompson shootout ?
Shinko 180 / 003 ultra soft ?
Can anyone fill in the gaps , or tell me if weights are correct ? Also there have been differing reports on the Metzler Dragteck , any input ? At the moment Im thinking of another Shinko , but a 180 this time . Im stock wheelbase , 16 / 41 and its a street / 1/4 mile bike .

Thanks .

I think the shinko 180 is a good choice. I'm currently running a 200, I think the bigger tire balances the look of the bike.

I had a 200 before this 190, and I agree, think its looks a lot better, but if you race, that's a lot of extra weight.

Dragtec all the way! I had a shinko before it and spun like crazy. I've yet to spin my dragtec, now I have wheelie problems...lol

As far as looks the 200 shinko looks great.

I'm 300ish suited and I just ran my best time on the 200mm shinko last weekend(6.172 @ 112.252). I wonder how much of a difference a lighter tire would have made?

Knew a pro mod drag racer that swore by the 10 to 1 ratio for rotating weight (tires, rotors, rims, bearings etc.): losing 1 pound of rotating weight had the same effect as losing 10 pounds of car weight. Doubt its much different with bikes, and that rule of thumb always seemed to prove true with every car I saw upgrade to lightweight rims. They dont run those skinny little tires up front for looks!

I just found out that the M/T ET weighs 11 lb acording to them .This seems alot less than the others , anyone weighed one themself ? Any comments from those who have tried one ? I love my Shinko 003 U/S but at 15 lb there has to be a better option .
