Bawls didnt put the info up, so here is his missing words: Smokin got ahold of a new bone stock VMax and is gonna run it tonite at Brandenton (florida). For those who dont know who Smokinzx14 is one of the fastest zx14 riders out there, a semi-pro. BUT he's never dragged a new VMax before.
I made a $5 wager (too be paid by donating $5 or buying $5 or more of Bikeland hats/shirts/ etc.). My wager that Bawls took was: closest guess to his best time wins, but if within a tenth of a second the closer mph takes it.
My Guess:
9.90 @ 144mph.
Edit: I am clueless about what it will run, I'm not a drag strip guy and if you all start betting .11 seconds off of my guessed time then you deserve to lose. lol

since I test rode the mule last night, i recuse myself from entering this contest. suffice it to say the vmax is a torquey tire smoking machine. there i do not want to give away any more inside info. the bike is fun to ride.

according to the StarVMax site, a few owners have both the 14 and P-Max. They go on to say the P-Max will take the 14 on the street, so if I take what they say as true, the P-Max should run 9.40@149mph only mods lowered.
Smokin runs a 9.98@138, gonna take a few runs to get it.

10.30's -135 give or take. They are fun to ride but dont have a top end rush to push that weight.....Bill

Well i think Bently might have won this one ...09 Vmax stock (NO Race ECU )
10.14 @ 136 with a 1.74 60 foot .. I don't have the tickets so i could be off on the MPH and 60 foot by a bit ... But i do remember is was a 10.14 ... Right off the trailer i ran a 10.16 ..
The harder you push the bike the slower it goes , just like what happened to Dale Walker on his test runs ... Best 60 foot of the night was a 1.69 but i blew that run in a wheely and ran a 10.19 .. MPH stayed right at 135 to 136 on all the runs .. Air wasn't to bad but not real great eighter ... Mid to high 70s and 65+ humidity ...
I was switching back and forth between my 09 zx14 and the Vmax that may have tossed me a curve on both bikes .. The zx14 when 9.33 @ 148 , every pass was a wheely and drop the throttle or i would have been in the 9.20s ..
This two bike are so different it's not even funny .....
I got Victor Gotay (AMA Prostar super street Champ ) to make 3 passes ... 10.17 @ 134
and two passes where 10.04 @ 134 ... He tried hard to run a 9 but it wasn't coming ... On my runs the clutch was slipping in 3 and 4 and one run after the 60 foot it spun and got sideways ...
With a fresh clutch and a few more passes i think a 9 is possible but it will not happen offten ..
This Vmax is the hardest bike i have ever rode to 60 foot , it so heavy to get it to move is damn near impossible .... After the 60 foot it goes pretty damn good .... Strong mid range but weak Vs the zx14 up top ... The 60 footers may have something to do with the fly by wire throttle , You can leave at 6 grand and as soon as you move the throttle drops like you are not incontroll ... You wack the throttle on and there is a little lag time till the power comes on ... It's a strange feeling for sure and i can put my finger on just what is happening .
Vic said the same thing that you have to leave low to get a good number. He tried 8 grand and slide the clutch and only got a 1.81 60 time ..Vic never got better than a mid 1.70 60 footer ..
It a fun ass bike to ride for sure and i'm sure with a pipe and tune better numbers will be had .. If someone can get the bike to 60 foot like a zx14 it could be pretty fast for 700 pounds ..
I have to thank Bob ( Bad_Max ) for letting me beat the hell out of his new bike and killing his new tire ...Bob made a 10.80 @ 128 pass and that was his first pass on a bike since the 70s .. He has to be 275 pounds in gear ...

Great writeup Smokin................was it spinning like crazy compared to the 14?
I wouldnt have pictured wheelies being much of a problem on that bike.

No i had no problem with hooking off the line ... One run i did get out of the grove in second and spun ..
