I'm going with 9.995 @138. I just really don't see him running too too fast with a 1.6 60ft and the bike not being a back halfer.

Not the slightest bit interested in riding a 14 or any other lay down bike. I'm too old to learn new tricks. Always had a naked & the new Vmax is that. Easy to ride & TONS o tire smoking FUN This is about testing a bike & not many do that better than Lee. I'm grateful to have met him & for all his help. Yamaha is too I bet

Well after 10 or so passes i have a good idea on what the Vmax likes and doesn't like ..I still have no clue what it's going to run ..But i can say i will give it my very best to run the numbers ..That is the only way i ride , full out , Balls to the wall and let the chips fall where they may ...

The exhaust should give the Max more over-rev right...............i know it did for my 14.

So you might not have to short shift as much with the after market exhaust.

Down shift? who needs to down shift? LOL
I wish they would have kept the smaller stature of the 1st gen...

That is one big bike...LOL

I simply meant the bike is not limited by a governor like mine (which topped out at 138). Not really much into this right now. Just found out I lost my cousin Sunday on the way home from the Leesburg Biker Fest. He was an avid biker & a world reknown Gunsmith. His name was Kurt Wala and he was 57.

Test ride showed 117mph, then all of a sudden my bike showed 80mph. Hmmmm

Bad_Max - Nice blog with good info and vids.

I liked that Air Dyno test

Any plans to go into the motor? add some more compression? head cleanup?

Done in less than 2 hrs. taking it nice & easy. Really great fit of the pipe

I love the way it sounds without mufflers (neighbors don't) lol . Sounded like I had a dragster in my driveway

Thanks Rick, nope, Vmax makes all the power I want.

OK guys and Gals here it is ........................Drum rollllllll please ..Smokin on Bad_Maxs bike 9.87@ 136 ..... Smokin on Tims ( The Vmax Gurus bike ) 9.74 @ 140 ...Smokin on his 06 zx14 8.90s @ 151 all night .....

Hold on it gets Better !!!!!!!!!!!! Pee Wee Gleason ran the best of a 9.51 on Tims bike ( The Vmax Gurus bike ) ..... Bad_Maxs bike 9.74 @ 140 ...

I was lucky i had the best 60 foot of everybody on Bobs Vmax with a 1.57 !!!
I got to talk to Pee Wee and found out he is from Calif ( LA ) Just like me , He is 53 years old just like me , I out weight him by close to 20 pounds ... He weighs in at 116 pounds !!! That is why the call him Pee Wee !!!! Let me tell you the man has some MAD SKILLS !!! ... You should have seen the look on my face when i saw that 9.51 come up on the score board ... ( Priceless !!! ) lol ....

A little info on the bikes ...

Bad Maxs bike ... Street tire , Cats removed , Speed fix ( removes the limiters ) Fuel tunner ( like a P/C ) ..Weighed in at around 670 pounds..

Tims the Vmax Gurus bike .. Cat removed and after market cans , Fuel tunner , race ECU , M/T drag slick , U4 fuel .. Weighed in at 650 pounds ..

I made a lot of passes ( 5 or 6 ) on Bad_Maxs bike and all but one was in the 9s ..I had one 10 second pass where i spun and banged the rev limiter in 3 gears ...
I only got one pass on Tims bike, i took it very easy on that run because he really didn't know me and asked me to take it easy with his bike ... I'm sure with a few more passes i could have got it into the 9.60s ...

Bad_Maxs bike was having clutch problems ( wore out ) .. It was slipping pretty bad on the 4th and 5th gear changes .. I'm pretty sure with some new clutches i could have got a 9.70s out of it ...We will have to try it again with some fresh clutches ..

We all had a blast ... And it was a thrill to meet Jay ( PeeWee ) Gleason .. I Need to thank Bob for letting trash his bike all night and Tim also for letting me make a pass on his bike.. Tim is a really nice guy and one hell of a Bike tunner...

Tommy had a new best on his zx`14 with a 9.21 .. Teddy had a new best tonight also ... He installed a new Brocks pipe and was laying down some killer numbers on his ZRX1200 ... I think he ran the best of a 9.23 ... He picked up a full tenth over his old pipe ...What can i say Brocks pipe make power !!!!

I did get to run my zx14 with PeeWee in the other lane but i blew the tire off and let off the throttle ...But being the racer i am i said what the hell and went after him to see if i could get him .. I got him with a crappy 9.58 run ... Sorry i just had to do it ...lol...

Bob Should be along soon with pictures and Videos !!!!!!!

Please know how happy I am that my bike which only got a pipe this morn and the Max Tuner installed at the track at 6:15 to compete so well! Tim's was super tuned and ran like it. Mine was just getting dialed in by the time the clutch was gone, but still managed a 9.74 and Jay Pewee Gleason signed the slip! :woohoo:

Both bikes made BIG power and by the end of the night people were really enjoying watching the heavy weights run. Lee got the best 60ft time @ 1.57 besting even Tims bike with Peewee & a slick! GREAT Job Lee, I just wish I had a fresh clutch

Jay Peewee Gleason on Bad Vmax (can't believe I'm typing this)! Jay, Lee & Steddy discussing how to get a soft clutch down the track :cheer:

The local racer boys were so very helpful again tonight & got genuinely excited by the big bikes performance. What an Evening! :cheer: Thanks Lee, Steddy & Tommy!
