I'd love to see a you give it a 40 shot and maybe some head porting and cams................and of course getting rid of that YCCI/YCCT limitation.

Well maybe after the exhaust ... Can't put much more in till we can get more out ...I feel just like the zx14 the exhaust and cats are the biggest hold back on top end power ...

Yeah I gained some nice topend power and overrev when I dumped the stock torpedos ans CATs for an aftermarket exhaust.

1Bad, It would make big ground for me if you've ridden a new Vmax. As far as riding bikes? Only 41 yrs in the saddle. I had an 07 Vmax briefly before this, and a modified FZ-1/R1 between the Vmax's. Before that was an 87 ZL1000 Eliminator, 85 900 Eliminator, 78 750 Honda, 67 650 Triumph, 2 H1's 70 & 71, 350 Yamaha, 350 Honda, 305 Dream, 250 Yamy, CB160, twin jet 100 Yamy, and for my 13th birthday in 1967, my first & only Harley Davidson an M50 (made in Italy 2 stroke).
I'm sure I missed a few dirtbikes, Suzuki 185, Yamy 250 trials etc.

bad i've road the new vmax a freind in houston has 1 and it was 30 miles on twisty road.. .. i've rode on just about everything or owned 1 ..except a harley but i have rode a harley tho ... and even a boss hoss and goldwing trikes
just like i twat nothing but vmax's since the 87 zl1000 with an r1 between vmax's ..
but i got 2 vmax freinds just like you .. diehards vmax riders since 1985 .. they won't even ride an FJR

I almost bought the FJR when I was tired of waiting for the Vmax. 6 months and a day wasn't easy. That's why I bought the Fz1 & rode it a couple months. Waiting sucks, but that bike was fun. I called it a "Ticket Taker, Widow Maker" That motorcycle thought it was a unicycle.  Glad you got to ride a new Vmax. It's not for everyone, but then neither is a 14. Guess that's why we have so many manufacturers.

i understand about the waiting since yamaha been feeding the new vmax since 2006 and it happen in 09 ...
manufacturers get it to the showroom floor ... then i make it a motorcycle ...

Here's an 09 that should give a 14 a go of it. Weighs 590 lbs, has 4 into 1 UFO Dragstar pipe, 4 K&N filters puffing thru custom UFO stacks, Race ECU & flies open according to wrist.
Did I mention the Max Tuner Fuel module, air shock'd & lowered with M/T slick? Now where to put the bottle? lol

Yeap, take a good look, 1 rotor up front, 1 radiator removed, & every removeable piece you can think of or get to has been dumped, wiring harness scrapped, he did leave the headlight, but that's about it. He won't give much detail, but this all what I know about it.

Btw dont hate on me for saying this Max or cry blasphemy...............but I think the New VMAX should have been chaindrive.............it would have been MUCH better for dragracing, would have cut a good amount of weight and drivetrain loss and provided gearing options as well.

Yes, for the drags, thats a no brainer. Yamaha responded to our survey where 90% of the people poll'd wanted shaft. Would you like to see Max's guts? No doubt the drivetrain is heavy.
Checkout the huge torque damper between tranny & differential. Add the big gear, casing, bearings, driveshaft & 2 U-joints, then the rear gear casing & bearings! Oh, forgot the counterbalance!

Trust me, mine was even lighter than UFO's bike 2 weeks ago, but I don't think it would have gotten into the 10's

Actually it was the shift fork detent bearing, and 1st gear that was popping out. Yamhaha stood behind it 110% (gave me $500 worth of accessories for my inconvenience)

shift forks were problems on gen 1 or any yammie for that matter ... good you got a good dealer ..most time yammie says owner abuse its your problem .. or any manufacturer .. i will buy a zuki next cause of a dealer we have locally that really tries

Take anything that john cornell says with a grain of salt bad... I'm a fellow vmax enthusiast and know all too well about the crooked shit that he pulls. He's about as reputable as that billy mays character that sells oxy clean, orange glow, and the slider station.

you go riding with a guy, have a couple beers, hell he let me ride his bike a couple times, not bad right? wrong! i've never had anything close to a race with this guy, NADA. and then he posts this trash over on another site. he never rolled it on with ANYBODY. the gxsr met us at hooters he never even rode with max. my other friend with the suzuki bandit can corroborate as well. i guess it takes all kinds, and whoever said the best way to win a sixth gear roll on is start in third gear was right. the only thing i saw of the vmax was in the rear view mirror. we never rolled it on raced or even farted. i got to the top of the bridge, it was clear, i gassed it and nobody was even close when i got to the next intersection. but heres how max saw it. i called him he said it was a misunderstanding and went and changed the post after i called him out. this is an official bullshit alert!

Man oh man i'm shocked !!! I just got a call from bigdtd and he is pissed !!! He went for a ride with Bad_Max the other day from QSL to Hooters .. Bad_Max reporded that the zx14 could not handle a Vmax in a roll on ..His post said his Vmax was out in front till 140 when he let off ..Dave saw the post over at StarVmax and called me and said we didn't even race and at NO time was Bad_Max in the lead or even close ...I went over to starVmax and looked for myself , sure as shit there it was !! bigdtd called Bad_Max and ran him over the coals and Bad_Max changed the post to read something different ..
I don't know about you guys but Bad_Max posting this type of untrue comments gives the readers on StarVmax a false impressions on what the Vmax can do or can't do.. ..

Yeah it kind of reminds me of Rush Limpballs radio show, where catering to, feeding and affirming the delusional fantasies of his listeners is WAY MORE IMPORTANT than facts or the truth.
