The new forum... any thoughts?

I've kept an eye on it, but can't get over the "Ask Hub" section...

http://www.zx14ninjaforum.com/forums.cfm?conferenceid=3856F3B6-1372-66AE-3B11303B4076051F

let's not forget his black naked bike creation... the pic that zxbob
had taken. That and the many "flies out" and "my bike runs hot" topics.

Not even close to the old site IMHO

I honestly don’t think anyone who has read any of his posts in either forum would come to any other conclusion that the two are one and the same… I am still trying to figure out what a lot of the longer rants are actually saying!

Note: It is quite obvious that he is extremely knowledgeable on the subject of the ZX14 and motorcycles in general and comes across as a very intelligent individual… unfortunately I personally have a great deal of difficulty sifting threw some of his posts for the “jewels of wisdom”.

I agree, I agree...but it sure does make the info that much more meaningful if you had to work hard for it. I like Hub. He reminds me of a crabby old uncle. He has got some of the coolest wrenching techniques.

I think the new forum has much the same flavor of the old one. A lot of the old members have reconfigured. More geared for the general rider than hardcore drag racing but you'll get a little of everything. A lot of casual banter but cycle related, by and large.

Go on over and check it out. I talked you guys up......not that you needed it. There's a ton of info exchanging hands here and new topics all the time.

I'm calling bullshit on the "I pulled my flies and my bike runs hot" Threads. I put 8k on my bike with no flies and no pc3 and it never once overheated. They've got to be cruising around at 3700 rpms all the time lol.

I like the readability of the other forum... very easy on my eyes, and my eyes, or one good one (LOL) always appreciates that.

For info, I will go where I can find it, and folks, here as there, willing to share it.

Makes my life a lil easier.

Here is my latest creation is I like to ruin a bike's look is more like my look. When to a swap meet and built it from literally... Built from the ground up is picked up a part at a swap meet and asked, "How Much?"

It's really my nephew's look, but I had to make it all look like something, so I put my 2cents into it and we more or less built this bike by buying the first part, being the horseshoe oil tank look and built it out from there. He painted the tank from spray cans. He is into that retro trend or, "Shaker Can" look of the 60's or 70's? He's into that stuff. I just assemble the parts we find. Next, I need to "Wire and Fire" the thing and she is out of my stall is next massacre mess you wanna see is, "Give it to me, Give it to me!"

I am just like use is. Talk about over heating assfactors, oil, tires, assholes, shit like here is same shit there. I'm like a piece of shit with pee stains on the poo. I float here... I float there... Eye stink up the place is I visit.

Thanks, Rook. See, Rook is reading the more hard core part of the, "more meaningful" though process. That is why this guy is, "Most Improved Rookie." If I were to build a pit crew, Rook is on the team. He is a quick learn. More like, I am the band member and you better remember if I fly in with a no-start situation and you want that rider back out... I do not have to jump out of the car like A.J. Foyt, bang the front A-arm straight, then heads back out, brings in 2nd place is who do you think was part of A.J's Indy wins?

Smokey Y and his cranky old goat basic physics is whom day be. Same fizz sicks has not changed much. I am just pointing the physics out to the Rook and he takes the fundamental rant and is off to the races. He's has the concept down helping out everyone else. Rook has it pretty much nailed and knows the rant is more hidden tricks in the physics dept.

The rest is holding the tool and turn it either way. Not my fault I took the time for the long drawn details. Rook took the time and maybe I just rant to one person who understands mechanics. Some do not make it in the pits is why they rope it off.

Well it is not the old forum, however it is constantly being upgraded.

I think the new forum has a lot of potential and has come a long way in the short amount of time it has been up.

You should sign up Mass. BG is very open to suggestions on how to improve the new board..... plus it will make it easier for you to call BS on anyone that claims pulling their flies has made their bike run hot.

That site isn't the "old forum" at all... there are several ZX-14 forums out there... why not choose zx-14.net, kawiforums, kawasakiworld etc etc etc?

Point being, anyone could have (and apparently someone did) simply start a site with a similar url to the old site... sorta like when you misspell google and go to goggle...

heck... we could've done that, but honestly we felt it would be disrespectful to the membership to do that, masquerading as another site or trying to sneak them into a site.

.. since there are already so many zx-14 sites to choose from and it just wouldnt be right to try to scoop someone else's site name and content...

IMHO it would have been considerably classier for the people who made that site to create their own, with a new, original site that had nothing to do with the other one, their own look.. everything... stand on their own two legs so to say... kinda reminds me of when I saw the fake "Toshiba" monitor in the computer store... everything was identical to the real Toshiba next to it until I looked close to notice the name said "Tobishi" ... I'm never a big fan of fakes, knock offs etc.

re: readablility... that forum's simply running in default mode... no customizing of any sort... that's another no brainer...

regardless, I'm with eklipse... anyone who makes the guy who created what is clearly the ugliest zx-14 on the planet in charge of their tech/advice needs their head examined... further... anyone who takes technical advice from said person needs even more professional help

remember... this is who you are getting your advice from at that site....

I'm so glad we have this thread

Hub,
that sticker on the front fender cracks me up really bad!

Slightly off topic,... but don't you think you should have started by getting
rid of that stock anchor of an exhaust... instead of saving 3 lbs. by removing
most of the fairings and the tail section?

Which exactly are the two sentences you understood..?

I actually have a serios question here:

What exactly are the achieved hp and torque losses by
modifying the ram air... and the whole box as seen above?

Maybe a quick comparo numbers b/n the black and the silver bike, please!

After checking out the other site, I think the guys are more intelligent and their bikes are faster. And they are probably better riders because they say so-- I think we can learn a lot from them. They are probably better looking too.
