Bought me a new bike

First off I still have the 14 it's just waiting for the track to open! But I've always wanted one of these bikes since they came out and I just got a deal on a left over 08 I could not pass up. it's not fast and old technology but that's whats cool about it to me. carbs and a choke. only have 13 miles on it as it's still cold here. really smoother then I thought it would be and handles really well. I know one of the tricks to make them handle better is a srt of ZRX1200 shocks on the rear. anyone have a pair they don't need?

Can't reall see it in the pictures but it has the gold strip down the tank and seat cowl. Have plans to black a lot of it out pipes and all. have to see If Brock has an alien head for it!

Picked it up for 6950 with a set of free tank pads the retail for 75.00. It's just a really cool bike to ride and look at. first will be bar end mirrors and rear fender taken off. triumph also comes with 2yr warranty.

The thruxton is one of the bikes that I really want to own. There's one around here with an aarow 2-1 megaphone that looks really good but I bet it's probably pretty pricey.

NIce Machine!

If you want to keep the pipes from bluing (single wall headers), plug off the arir injection system as soon as you can.
You can buy the plugs to do it from various sites

Sentamental attachments to old school technology and nostalgia, never quite understood the attraction. But If you like it, I love it. Congrats, enjoy.

Hey thanks I've read that over on triumphrat. but just from the 13 mile ride home they started to turn already so I guess I won't worry about now. I plan to switch exhaust to an all black system anyway. plus the bluing gives it the old retro look anyway!

I looked up the Thruxton and it says it comes with FI. That has to be the most "carb-looking" FI ever made...or are there two models?

Nice Bently. My buddy has a nice early 70's Triumph 250 that he is restoring. You need to get one of those retro British racing helmets, some goggles, and some retro gear and tool around town in style! Love it.

Here's an old BSA rocket3 with triumph hurricane bodywork that my grandpa used to race back in the day and they're going to try to get going again.
