should have done a how to lol... I'd like to have mine under there but don't want to put the effort into figuring it out for myself lmfao.

BINGO!! That was the problem. When you turn the key to the ON position PC only initiates. Once you hear the hum of the fuel pump stop, the PC3 goes dark - no power. In that state it obviously can't communicate with the computer. My PC3 came off Ebay and did not include the 9V connector. When the bike is running and the rectifier is powering the PC3 it can communicate and maps can be loaded and retrieved.

I didn't know that. I thought the PC3 stayed powered up when the key was turned to the ON position. I thought it would run right off the battery.

glad you got it going, i have the lcd hooked up and it loads the maps while running too.
if you have the 9v battery hooked up to the pclll, that provides power for reading and loading maps also,like if you didn't have pclll on the bike. it is just easier to start up the bike and load imho.
