V&H Sidewinder Problem!

Ok I had a full Alien Head Exhaust System on my 07 14 And I decided to sell it to get the V&H sidewinder and Expect better numbers on the dyno with it but It didnt look that good cause I lost about 11hp on the top end! I made 179 with the alien head and 168 with the sidewinder (After tunning)!! We tried 87-89 and 91 octane pump gas and dyno numbers were about the same! Low and Mid range was great cause I made about 10hp or more than the alien head but after 9.5k RPM stops making power! How can I fix this issue? I was thinking that the sidewinder needs a baffle cause the motor is stock and may need back pressure! Any help is appreciated.

Well, first question...did you dyno them both on the same day? What were the conditions and correction factor(s)?

The mph at the track will tell you the real hp story...

The Dyno was the same one we used when we tuned the bike with the alien head but when I put the sidewinder it was on a different day! But Im gonna go to the track and see how it does! Thanks.

That goes against what a thread on psychobike was saying. I spent the last 5 mins looking for it, but it went something like this.

Two bikes
Identical except

one was stretched w/ V&H sidewinder
one was Brocks pipe

The V&Hs made more power on the same dyno on the same day.

Brocks maps are developed with real world ( dragstrip acceleration) in mind. I have been extremely pleased with the performance of my Shortmeg. If it ain't broke don't fix it.

I noticed that with the sidewinder it also said the bike was "stretched". This also could've help caused the decrease in hp on the dyno. I made 184.8 hp at stock wheel base and 179.2 hp after bolting on extentions/chain 2 hrs later. Went to the track that same evening and ran 2/10ths and 2 mph faster than the week before, probably because I could lock the throttle sooner. I was able to go from high 5.90s to mid 5.70s with bolts on and adding one more tooth on the rear - now (16/42). BTW this was with BDE race map,BMCand MR9 plus I weigh 175 lbs.

I agree, stretched bikes will sap a few horses (more chain, more drag). What I was trying to illustrate is that it looks like the V&H sidewinder makes a bit more hp then the Brocks stuff.
