If gas prices go up, oil prices go up along with any petroleum based products. When gas gets high, look at a gallon of fiberglass resin, it is crazy.

I use the Shell Rotella T6, works good in the ZX14, that last 2 oil changes were nothing but Rotella. $19 a gallon @ WalMart. I traditionally use Motul 300V but money has been tight these days.

Been using rotella T for a couple months now. Can't tell a difference good or bad. It supposedly works great and it's cheap as dirt. If it protects my bike and I get 30,000 miles out of the motor then it will have done it's job.

Only 30,000 miles? Man you have low expectations. I'm sure these engines are far capable of surpassing that.

Guess I'm on board the Rotella train now. Managed to get a case-lot sale at $13 and $25 per jug for dino & synth. Enough oil to last me a couple years at least. Nice not to pay $40 for bike-specific oil.

I'm using it, motor has less clanking, smoother, longer lasting, less-filling and leaves a shine.

$24 at AdvancedAutoParts here in Stamford, CT. I wish I could find this in a 5 gallon pail. I use it for everything, the cars, trucks, bike, compressor and even brushing my teeth. I like the velvety taste.

I just changed to Motul 7100 yesterday and shift quality is remarkably better then the Rotella I had in there. Engine seems to run the same though.

I go 3k miles or 2 trips to the drag strip... whatever comes first. 2 trips can be anywhere from 30-50 passes hot lapping 3 at a time though, and I run 16/46 gearing on the street. My oil always looks good when I pull it out, and I'm probably overly cautious... but I can't afford another motor and I'd be doing the same thing whether I was running it, Mobil 1, or Amsoil...

BTW, I'm running mobil1 full synthetic now, and though I lost a little trap speed my launches are more manageable than with any other oils I've tried.

Not another oil thread?I think if you do some research and spend some time reading most oils used on this site work fine.Mobil 1 full synth is the best in most test.there are a few here that use car oil and thats ok for drag racing but if you want alot of street miles use the motorcycle oil and stay away from the car oil.

I have used regular kawasaki oil for two changes, Royal purple 20w50 for two changes, and Amsoil 10w40 for two oil changes. I have 9K miles and the motor has not grenanded yet. got a good deal on some Motorex 15/50 synth for the next oil change. Guess Im overly cautious to but it makes me feel fuzzy inside to change my oil........lol
