MC boots for bigfoot
Anyone know of a street m/c boot that actually runs true to size for a 14 wide foot.

Bates Leather has some great boots for street and drag that they will custom fit to your size...it's going to cost you about $300, but it's nearly impossible to find boots that offer good protection in the larger sizes.

The only problem I see with ordering race boots is that you may have trouble with widths and not being able to try on a pair before paying out $300 and get stuck with a restocking fee. If you go Bates, they can measure you up at a race or measure at home and send in the information.
I'm between a 13-14 and I know I have trouble with boots being too wide in the heels.

** See bates boot worksheet in the .pdf on the page on the above link to see how they measure.

Bump for a US company that makes a superior product that (FINALLY!!!!!) fits a guy with my size 16 Wide foot! Here is excerpts from Motorcycle.com's review of the basic Fast Lane boots from 1996:
"...here in America, Bates Leathers has been quietly making some of the best motorcycle boots in the world.
Bates is best known for supplying the high-quality racing leathers that have been worn by "King" Kenny Roberts and Jamie James. Their showroom is a virtual racing museum, with leathers on display that were worn - and crashed - by some of the most famous names in racing. Hard evidence that Bates knows how to make a quality product.
The inner lining is made from thin perforated leather for comfort and durability, and there is a full-length zipper that runs up the back of the boot - this was a little weird getting used to after having boots that zipped up the (inner) side, but the knowledgeable people at Bates say it is less likely to suffer crash damage there.
We put a pair of Bates Sport Racer boots to the toughest test of all: Two years of full-time riding in Los Angeles. Twenty-four months and over 100,000 miles later, the boots were still in one piece, though a hole was starting to wear through on the left boot where it engages the gear shifter. Other than that, durability, comfort, and value were excellent."
Editor Impressions:
" At first the boots seemed tight, the zipper not allowing my feet to slip in easily. Fortunately, this was only temporary and after a couple weeks of break-in, they slipped on with ease. Indeed, the leather seemed so soft and supple, I questioned how well they might stand up to a crash. Luckily, I never had to find out. Except for the wear over the left big toe, the boots stood up amazingly well. These are beautiful, comfortable, stylish, hand-made leather boots that last. I'd buy them again, but for now, I'll just re-sole them. Definitely four (out of a possible five) stars. --Mike Franklin, Road Test Editor"
Only issue for some is that they appear to be old school, almost Harley rider type boots.

sticks that bates road racer boat looks like something from the 50's!? I've never seen such at a track, do they still sell them?
that company is going down with the Big 3 if they don't take note of the competition such as Sidi, Alpinestars, and Puma

Sidi's will fit a 14. Plus Sidi's come in TRIPLE wide and EE and such. I know racers that won't wear anything but Sidi and own or have owned all the major brands.
They may not have any 14s in stock at the link I provided, but Sidi's are available.
