1st azzwoop of the season

I'm guessing most of us around here do our racing on a closed course. I'd love to do that some time but I can't resist a little street race just about every reasonably safe chance i get. Talk about blood boiling, heart pounding jubilation!!!!!!!! Spring is here and I'm back just a little tiny bit badder than last Fall. All stock but flies are gone. Flies out on a G2 don't make a world of difference for street riding but when you get on it hard, there's a noticable improvement from a dead stop. The front wheel seems to loft pretty easy now, even under half throttle in first gear.

I rode by a guy on a orange/red Yamaha 1000 coming out of a parking lot. I gave him my biker wave and pulled up to the light to make a turn. The Yammi guy followed me and came screaming past. I don't know if I would have bothered with him but we came to a red light and the road ahead was totally empty except for the van in the right lane I came up behind. The Yammi guy was over in the left so I swerved around the van and and waited for the light to turn in the right turn lane. The light turned green and I looked over at him. He nailed it and I took off right after him. First gear I'm passing, front just lifting a bit off the ground. Second gear, she still up and Yammi is toast.

I just love this bike. A long winter of thinking what I need to do to make this thing go faster has passed and I see I don't really need much of anything I don't already have.

I just had to let the joy out. Thanks for reading.

^^^LOL........I get flamed more for not being FAST ENOUGH!!!

It was a safe location. No sidewalks, clean of traffic (except the lady in the van - but she had a perfect opportunity to race two bikes!) If the same thing would have happened in an area where the buildings were right on the street, I would have let him go.

The bike looked on the big side for being a 600. I din't see any insignia except for YAMAHA logo. In my mind, it was a literbike.

You can let a 600 fly by at ~40 mph acellerating hard with you at a dead stop. You'll still catch & pass within about 3 seconds. E'hem.......at the track, that is.
