ZX14 Break in question

I just picked up my new2007 14 on Saturday and my new Bruce Fab slip onexhaust is supposed to be here today. I want to put it on tonight but the bike has 0 miles and has not been broken in yet. Would it be safe to put the exhaust on before the break in is complete? What do you think?

This about covers it
If you want a dog....walk it
http://www.ntnoa.org/enginebreakin.htm

Also...buy a couple of oil filters, Change the oil @ 500 & 1500 mi. There are many machined sufaces that wear against each other in a motor.
During break-in they will rub and shear off. (This is normal) BUT... get them out of that motor. Then every 3,000 or @ recomended intervals

If you wait till 3,000 till the first one your motor will be swimming in them.

Oil changes are very easy on a 14, the filter from the factory can be a "little" tight though

Put the slip-ons on it and go run it how you want. My first 14 was to the track before it hade 50 miles on it and the guy that bought it from me has 12000 on it now with no issues

2 heat cycles to wear in cam and crank brg surfaces, and set the castings and molecules of pistons and cylinders ,
then moderate to full throttle low to mid rpm roll ons...Load the rings so they wear in square
I did full throttle roll ons from 10 to 200 mile period, on an empty straight road.
At the end of 200 miles it was bounced off the speed limiter as well...

ala motoman...

I used to work in an Auto Parts store. They had cutaways of a lot of oil filters and the Fram had the least paper inside, so I would say it has the least filtering capability, too. One of the best was Wix.

K&N oil filter has a 17mm hex nut that is drilled for safety wire. KN-303 or if you have

to have Bling KN303C.....chrome plated. The Mazda V6 has the same filter as the ZX-14.
