How does turbo effect bottom end?

I know it doesn't add any power until the engine revs high enough. However, there is no stock exhaust at all with a turbo. How does the turbo header and pipe(s) compare to your average aftermarket 4-2-1 full system for bottom end?

^^^You know, most aftermarket pipes loose a little on the bottom end.

Don't have a turbo but have read that same rules apply for header design turbo or no. Obviously not enough room to put a full header on a bike with a turbo. Does it matter not really. I used to have a 750 turbo and found that when cruising say up a hill even at lower rpms when the engine is loaded the turbo starts to boost and creates plenty of torque. Its like having extra automatic gearing don't have to downshift or hardly open the throttle.

If you have the bike tuned correctly, and you are using stock motor (12:1) compression, you shouldn't have any real noticeable loss in low end. Turbo cars and bikes are known for having soft low ends because they generally use low compression so they can have more boost on pump gas. All out race engines use a fuel that allows for high compression AND high boost. But you need fuel like c16, q16, vp import, methonal, and nitromethane to name a few.

Felt to me that it was choked just a very little bit at low RPMs - I'm talking about parking lot speeds basically.

Actually the bottom end came alive compared to a stock ZX-14. Part of the Muzzy stage 1 was to remove the flies that may be some of the reason for all that low end power. At 3000k it starts to pull smooth, fast, and hard, no 2 stroke power bad just zooms. 15,500 miles on the turbo now with no problems.

Interesting that some setups seem to start boost a little right above idle.

I can see this is another venture frought with questions, decisions and performance trade offs. I know I'm going to have alot more questions once I start learning more about these systems.

Thanks for input, everyone.

Do you have a boost controller? If so ramp it some.

300 pound rider and stock wheel base , i would say 150 MPH was pretty damn good .. I have seen his bike and it's not lowered ..It does get lower when he sets his 300 pounds on it ...lol..

the bikes done 165mph with a 2.40 60ft and a 150lb rider with tire spinning mid track on 7lbs ... and the rider being cautious(short shifting) to ring it out being it wasn't his bike...i never said it was its best mph just what i did that pass .. ..

there were several turbo busa running that day with 10lbs + of boost with riders around 200lbs trapping 150-156mph so with my 300lb ass i don't think i and bike was doing bad

thanks smokin for me pic..i know we'll never agree on the Stock OEM super sport bikes... but in the rules you can only use stock OEM parts
and when somebody like shine wins his bike is broken down and inspected by AMA..
its amazing what hp is coming from a surface job and OEM parts AND blue print install of parts..

exhaust can be whatever and powercommanders ...but that motor is OEM PARTS which is the same parts in my bike and yours but some really smart motor guru put it together
