Wheel Chocks needed.
Hi there gang,
I just got a new enclosed trailer and I'm looking for wheel chocks that will fit a ZX-14.

Uhh, I don't know the site...but Condor Chocks are very nice. I have two in my trailer.

Sport Chocks, bought mine for my new enclosed trailer and it works awesome! Even color matched my red 14.

Got mine during a group buy thing for the price they are now selling them for: $230. Works great, dont be fooled into buying a clone! Look at the way it grips the tire as it 'rolls over'. Rock solid! First time I used it in my trailer, had no tie downs and it wasnt bolted to the floor. it was just sitting there. Friend crashed and had to get his bike. bike was toast so I crossed my fingers and left it just sitting there in the chock with NOTHING holding it in place! It didnt move an inch on the extremely twisty 15 mile ride home.
I pull into it every day when I get home, dont even use the kickstand anymore.

I'm not sure which "clones" Sticks is talking about, but the Condor is not a clone. It uses square channel aluminum.

Check them out. I have one and it works good. I put it on the trailer when Im using it, and then pull it off and use it at the track and in my garage to hold the bike up.

How do the Baxley's detach from the trailer? The Condor setup uses a single wingnut.
Any of these are great in the garage, for sure.

Baxley's use either a two or three bolt setup, the nuts and mounting plates secure under the trailer bed. Suppose you could weld wingnuts onto the bolt head, but for me its a non-issue since it only takes 30 seconds to break the bolts loose and finger them out.

yep, those are one of the clones. Look at where the tire actually sits. Condor's dont grab the tire like Baxley's, with Baxley's as the platform pivots over it actually squeezes in, gripping the tire in a death grip. Once you lock the mechanism, you cannot pull the bike out no matter how hard you try. it must be rotated backwards to ungrip the tire.

Thanks for "warning" people about a product that you don't own or use.
A lot of people are using the Condors, and they are very well made. I have two in the trailer, and I transport multiple bikes to and from lots of racing events all season. I also use them trackside and in the garage. The front wheel wedges in very securely. If you had ever used a properly setup one, you would know this.
The Condors have a mount that bolts to the trailer floor. But the detaching mechanism is quick and convenient.
I'm not here to "warn" people to stay away from a competing brand. I am trying to give some options. I'm sure the Baxley is a good product...as is the Condor.

I've used Condors before Shane, even owned one like that back in the 80's. It simply doesnt compare IMO when it comes to stably gripping the front of a bike. With the Baxley's you dont have to tie down the front of the bike, just the back tire. Simpler and faster, for close to the same price.
I wasnt saying the Condor style doesnt work, its been around far longer and is proven. Just that the Baxley outperforms it and makes the tiedown task that much easier.

Are you sure you used the latest Condors? I don't tie the front of my bikes down at all...even for trips across multiple states.
Maybe the product has been refined since you had one.
If the Condor style has been around for far longer....I guess it isn't a "clone" of the Baxley, is it?

OK we all know that stix has a very strong opinion....LOL
In any event i have baxley chocks universal model, (can't speak for the condor or the sport chock) and I really like the way it grabs the tire.
It actually locks the tire forward, and as the tire rolls into the cradle the sides lever in and grab the sidewalls too.

you could always go to harbor freight and buy the cheap clones for like 50 bucks. they're not as nice, but still get the job done.

Clearly it's just two chocks that are dominating the market.
Regardless of which brand I buy I'm still going to strap the front down.
A local guy on our boards has a Condor he's selling me for $100.00. Maybe I'll buy the Baxter and have my own little side-by-side experiment.

i love my condor,very solid and versatile. top quality. saw it first at smokin's garage and had to have one. totally adjustable for front or back.

If you are bolting it down to the trailer go with the Harbor Frt. one. I have one in the garage and it fits the 14 fine. I think it costs 60, bucks not the junk one for 30.

I purchased two sport chocks last year and I agree with Sticks there are cheaper chocks out there but I really have not seen a better one…
I have pushed the bike to 60 degrees or better and it just bounces back the way the front wheel gets grabbed and locked in place is excellent.
The one drawback I see is there is no lock to keep the wheel in the forward position, if it had that I honestly don’t know if I would bother with tie down’s.

There is a lock, but its really not very reliable looking so I overtighten the bolt holding it so that it cant bounce out of the locked position.
