Nitrous Spray Bar & Valves

When you use a spray bar it sprays nitrous almost directly on the back of the valves. If you start to spray at the beggining of a 1/4 mile run, It sprays nitrous on the back of the valves even when there closed for the compression stroke, So you have extreme cold spraying the entire run on one side of the valves, While the combustion process creates extreme heat on the other side of the valve. What does this do to the valves since metal re-acts to changes in temp. What type of valves are better for nitrous. I have a spare motor I just brought & had carpenter springs & some other things did to it. I have decided to push my luck with my stock motor just too see how long it will last. I have a single nozzle schnitz dry kit spraying a 40 shot as far up into the ram air tube as possible, I ran this set up last year with no problem on pump gas, On a low reading Dyno it made 171 on motor, 215 on Nitrous. Im putting a 60 shot on it with 2 degree's timing pulled & 102 unleaded octane race fuel. I have a schnitz 5 dial controller with a schnitz window switch shutting the nitrous off before redline. I have heard of guys burning valves with 40 shots with a spray bar, Common sense tells me that its even distribution to each cylinder, But I have also seen other guys run the simple one nozzle set up without any problems. Im going to stick with what I have & see how long it lasts. Will post results & problems if they occur.

the guys burning up valves are burning up exh valves due to a lean AFR. my stock valves held up just fine with a 60 shot spraying just like a spray bar(one fogger per velocity stack) and another 30 hp being sprayed dry into the ram air tubes(90 total on pump gas with 7.5 degrees of timing pulled). get the AFR correct or a bit rich and you will be ok. if you want to use better material anyway, use SS valves, or Inconel. but the best thing is having a valve seat that will remove more heat. a wider seat width on the exh valves helps, and a diff material helps. Bronze or BE CU. Im going to run a bit more nitrous this yr so im getting bronze exh seats and ss exh valves. inlet side is staying stock.
