Cheap front wheel tool

I just ran to the hardware store and made my own front axle removal tool. After going to napa first only to find that plug socket #NTD626S that lots of guys use for this has changed?? and will no longer fit the axle. So I found that a M14 bolt and 2 M14 nuts and a lock washer work just fine. Only cost $3.77 to make.

I've also heard that there's a brass pipe fitting that's supposed to work pretty well.

I used a 1/2 x 20 Lug nut for older 3500 Dodge trucks, works perfect. Its just long enough to fit good in the axle and for the 22mm socket to go on the end of it.

Thanks. Yeah, that was my plan. I've used it on 2 bikes so far and I will be using it on many other bikes I purchase throughout my decades here on earth. I like to help buddies out with it too. I just wanted to share what I have and use.

Front Axle = 94 ft pounds
Front axle clamp bolts (bottom of forks) = 15 ft pounds
Caliper bolts = Just tighten until they stop then give a good tight turn, but not stupid tight.

I have a service manual.
