Any tips for a swingarm swap?

Hey guys, Im about to start my swingarm install. I have a front wheel chock and a jack so its no problem getting the rear wheel unloaded. I also have the swing arm socket for the right side. I need to order a service manual but just havent gotten around to it. So if anyone has any pointers that would be great. I dont understand why the pivot bolt has a nut on each side. Ive taken off plenty of dirtbike swing arms but they only have a nut on one side of the bike. Does it matter which one you remove and install first? And if anyone has the torque specs for these nuts and the linkage bolts I would really appreciate.

thanks in advance

Make sure you follw the swingarm torque procedure in the manual... guys who haven't have broken their frames... that was the recall for the 06 frame too... improperly torqued / improper procedure from factory.....

IMPORTANT!

If you don't set the collar before bolting the axle nut up, you will stress the frame and it can break!

You really need a manual. I am not sure if the swingarm pivot bolt has been affected by the recall, but the engine mount collars had their torque reduced to 11 ft. lbs..

You have to set the preload on the collar(s) properly or you will put too much spreading force on the frame. When you tighten and loosen the bolts you must be sure that you are not turning the adjusting collars or you will damage the frame.

Here are the pages from 2006 manual. DO NOT TRUST THESE TORQUE SPECS. Verify the proper specs for your year.

Hope this helps.

I tried to send it, but i guess it's too large to send to a hotmail account. Do you have a gmail or yahoo account?
