Help with exhaust gaskets....
I'm installing my new muzzy m10 (well new to me anyways) and I got some new exhaust gaskets. The gasket has a flat side, and a rounded side. Which side goes into the head? Also, their appears to be a little remainder of the old gasket. It seems almost impossible to get out. Is it imperative to get that last little bit of copper out?
Thanks..

Yes! Get all the old copper out. I used a curved dental pick as a 'hook' to pull mine. Once you break the grease seal they have they'll pop out easy.
If you look at the gasket (new one) I think the rounded side has the seam. The seam goes in first. I used a 'dab' of grease to hols the gasket in the exhaust port, otherwise they'll fall out.
Good luck!
Ps. Try an ice pick or a real small flat head screwdriver to pop the old gaskets out.
Psss. You'll love the M10 header. What pipe ya using?

whys that???
I like loud pipes..... My bike is simply pleasure, I don't ride it to work or anything like that. I simply ride it when I want to go ride.... just to ride, haha. I want a pipe that makes the most horsepower, and I don't have money for a brocks alien head, otherwise I would be getting that.

dang....... the gasket is COMPLETELY flush with the head. I can not get the thing out, it is just making scratches in the existing gasket.

A small piece of wire with a hook in the end works well. Just work it in behind the gasket in a few spots and work it out Its also very easy on the gaskets if they're low miles and you want to re-use

It took a while to figure out how to get mine out also. On the top half use your fingernail to find the spot where the old gasket just peaks past the edge of the port. Use a long screwdriver to catch that edge and pry it out. The screwdriver should almost be at right angle to the front to rear center-line of the bike. Once I got the first one the rest came out in moments.
