14R motor dimensions needed
Hey hows it going everyone, I have finally decided to get a project bike going and right now its either a 14R engine or a V-Max maybe to power it.
Before I bite the bullet and buy anything, I really need to know how wide is the ZX14R's motor is? I read that the overall width of a full bike is almost 30 inches (29.9 I believe) and for what I am doing thats just too big!
If anyone can give me the exact measurement of the motors width it would really really help me out.

Yea but from what I have heard they are not that much slimmer than a 14R's
I really want to use the big ZX's engine, but I really need to know the width

there is no such thing as a ZX-14R. its a ZX-14 or a ZZR1400 depending on the country

cut the guy some fucking slack. It's more suited to say R at the end than 14. For all intensive purposes it's a zx1352RRR the three r's are for rideability, respect, and rips busas a new asshole :P.

Sure,
It's called a Tape Measure, a note pad and a bike, probably in a dealership somewhere that has the plastic removed. Probly not that hard to find.
You say you are doing some sort of project? If you are doing it, one would think you'd want to get the dimensions on your own, rather than trust someone else?

Not true ... I have a 2009 ZX-14R.
the "r" stands for 'replacement' for my 2008 wrecked 14. hehehehhe
But it is funny how many things Google picks up on when you search for ZX-14R. I mean ... these are the folks who sell cycle stuff, shouldn't they know better?
Hey, if you can believe in Santa, why not a 14R ?

I can't believe nobody here already has their plastics off, and won't help the guy out...

Total motor width, mount width would be nice as well though but not a biggie.

Tough to measure accurately with motor in frame but!
Overall width, covers on each end of crank. 20" or 50.5 mm
Front engine mount width. 10" or 25.5 mm
Rear engine mounts. 7" or 17.8 mm
As previously stated it is hard to get really accurate measurements with engine in frame. But this should be close enough for your initial guesstimates.

thats all I was looking for, thank you very much. I just needed a general measurement (give or take an inch sorta thing. Like I said although the bikes overall width is almost 30" I couldnt imagine the engine would be more than 24"
