Finally a 9.3x!! woo woo
Well after 3 track days and 40+ passes later I have managed to get into the 9.3's. It was a very slow day at the track since most people were expecting a rain out, but it never came. I was able to make 18 passes and even got to try the street map vs. the track map and no air filter in the same day. Which for my bike made no difference at all. I showed up running 89 pump and made 9 passes on the street map, and then switched the map over and pulled thde air filter. My best mph on the street map with air filter was 149.8 and on the race map with no filter it went 149.2.
All I wanted to do is run a 9.3x at stock lenght on pump and foot shifting, and as soon as I did I started telling myself I needed to run a 9.2x lol. I guess no matter how fast you go you always want that little bit more huh.
I made 9 passes in the 9.3's, my best 60' was a 1.50 but ended up missing a shift, and my best mph was 149.8. Here is what my best slip looks like.
1.525
4.032
6.064 @ 121.08
7.82
9.32 @ 149.2
We had really good air, the DA was between +350 and +600ft all day. But where Im at its not unheard of to get a -1200 DA so Im hoping one of those days comes along soon and Ill be able to make a 9.2x or even a 9.1999999 pass.
What do you guys think? Keep in mind this is at stock wheel base, foot shifted, pump gas, and I weighed in at 210lbs in my boxers this morning.

Great job rACeRs............ That's good mph too for your size, the bike is really hustling on the back end for sure. What rear tire are you using?

That mph is very good. I am your weight, running near sea level, and 45 degrees outside air temp and running 148 mph....air shifting. I am running about 18 psi in the rear tire...what were you running?

All of my passes are high 148's to low 149's. Im still on the stock rear tire at what should be 42psi? I havent checked it yet, yikes.
Thanks for the positive replies

Just in first gear, as long as I keep the front end just and inch or two off the ground in first it lays down as soon as I hit 2nd.

I must say, you have got to be one of the fastest guys on this board to run what you are at stock wheelbase. Two VERY fast guys at the track have run my bike and say it is one of the hardest bikes they have run because of wheelie problems. They love the power, but just can't keep it down and said they have a new respect for what I'm running with it. The difference in mine is that I have a 16t. I think until I lengthen it out, I'm going to replace the 17t and see how it runs then. I changed it to a 16t when I had the exhaust put on, so I will be interested to see the difference. Again, congratulations! Fantastic times.

Thanks, I dont think Im one of the fastest but thats nice to hear Im sure that 16t is killing you. Im even thinking of going 1 down in the rear to help with the wheelies and give me a little more time before I need to make the 1-2 shift. Im sure once you put the stock front sprocket back on you will have much better luck.

great times for stock wb. I don't forsee myself ever lengthening my bike so I like reading your results! I'm on stock height and still haven't gone 9s. I've been to the track a couple times and ran a best pass of 10.13@142, and my best mph (at a different track) was 146. I know my bike can do it, but I'm interested in what links and strap you are running.
I think I like the Soupy's turnbuckle lowering links, but those brock's links look really nice where there are just 3 adjustments. Reason I ask what you are running, is because I want to be able to lower the bike when I get to the track (I ride my bike to the track).
So..
What products have you used to lower the bike?
How long does it take you to lower the bike?
What would you recommend?
Thanks,
Jorgen

I never ran my bike at stock height, but if you could get into the nines at stock height I would be really impressed. These bikes make so much power I could imagine trying to keep the front down with the bike all jacked up. I think that a 10.1 is great at stock height.
I have brocks cheap 3 hole links for the rear which I run at the lowest setting when I go to the track. And for the front I have slid the fork tubes up 1" and use brocks strap to keep it down. If it wasnt for having to slide the forks down I can lower the rear and put the strap on in less than 15 minutes. I leave the radial mount kit on all the times, it actually looks kinda cool, so all I need to do is put the strap on and install 2 bolts to do the front. And the rear is simple, you just need to use a jack or have some method of holding the bike up from the frame and not the swing arm. I have also used fully adjustable links in the past but didnt like them because If I didnt have them off the bike to measure exactly how long they were I always worried that I would have them at 2 different lengths and it would cause some wierd launching problems or keep the suspension from working right. So I like the 3 holes since you know that they are always going to be dead on.
And then if you want to slide the fork tubes up or down it is kind of a pain in the a$$, and that takes me close to an hour Id say, but I like to take my time and make sure not to scratch or damage anything on the bike.
And thanks

My best run at showroom stock was at a track that had a da of about 150-200. It was 1.62 for a 6.40@117. At our track out in the mountains I run high 50's and low 60's. Only mods being muzzy links and a strap. I'm ordering a 16t front sprocket to make up for how broke I am since I can't get a pipe just yet lol. I'll let you know if it helps. I can't believe that you're 60fting like that @ 42Psi. I can't get away with running more than 20.

Lol thanks for the replies guys, good stuff I have been trying to loose some of my "extra weight" I was 227lbs 2 months ago and now Im down to 209. And my goal is to be at 200 which would be my fighting weight. I really couldnt loose much more than that so I dont think I will be catching smokin, I think he ran 9.1x at stock wheelbase if im not mistaken which is well... smokin lol.
And gilberjj if your running 10.1's at stock height Im sure you will have no problems clicking off some 9,5x's once slammed out. And thats a good idea about getting a season pass at the strip, I never thought of that. At my track its $50 to run on test and tune days which really adds up fast.
The track that I go to preps the track well on test and tune days, which I think they should since they charge $50 to get it. So I guess thats why I get away with stock pressure. It has only spun once on me and that was on the first pass of the day when the track was still green. I dont think your going to like that 16t front if your still at stock wheelbase. Its going to wheelie like no other. Im actually going the other way on mine by going down 1 in the rear, which is what I think Brock does with his 14's? Ill let you know how it goes.

rACeRs,
that is FLYING!
Anything in the low 4.0's means you are really riding the bike well.
If you had been running MR9 or MR11, you would have run 9.26-9.28 at around 152 with the Maxton map.
Great job!
