First mods for 2008 zx14 Hi guys
I live in Queensland Austrailia and just joined up.
I have recently bought a new 2008 ZX14 Special Ed.
Great bike just had first svc 1000k.
I'm Looking at getting exhaust system for better note and few extra ponies.
Heard about removing the secondary butterflies, putting a 4 into 1 full system on and remapping ignition etc...
What is the common 1st mods to do to this bike?
Is it worth de restricting the existing exhaust system? (removing catalysers /secondary butterflies, plates etc....?
Or keep the 4 into 2 exhaust with slip on sport mufflers ( eg Yoshi's)?
Or just go with the whole new 4 into 1 sports system?
Do you have to remap the ingition for any of these mods.

i dont know much about Australia aside from watching the crocodile dundee movies, but how would the brock maps perform in an Aussie atmosphere?
look into what the american$ vs aussie$ conversion is, or what shipping would be from the U.S. if its worth it to you compared to getting something from the UK. these are all things i would take into consideration, as ive spent considerable time pricing out parts from japan.

All of the above is what you should do, without any doubt but nobody mentioned other benefits of a full four-into-one system, weight saving and cooler running. Just weight the standard system when you take it off, it's massive and the catalysts run so hot. My engine fan was always cutting in in traffic, not any more.
If you like your Kawasaki now you're going to love it afterwards.

mmmmm, I love that Megaphone look! The shorty is just too small looking with the huge bike as a background. The long megaphone accents the body of the bike much better because their sizes blend better than the shorty.

I bought a used Tsukigi full system for cheap. Look for the good deals. I got my full system and a brand new Pipercross Race filter for $450 shipped, and then I got my pcIII and muzzy frame sliders for $200 shipped. Just wait for those good deals.

Drewster, welcome to the forum. I believe we have the same bike. Here's a picture of my '08 with a Brocks Street Meg installed.
I had early trouble with mine, so I didn't get to experience the upgrade like others on the forum. But all I can do is smile each time I rip on the throttle. You will also have to install the PCIII, which is a must with this system.
