Polished some aluminum parts on my 14. Pics.
Polished some of my aluminum parts. I also ground off the casting seams prior to sanding and polishing for a cleaner look. The pictures don't do the parts justice. They have a mirror finish that is hard to capture with my camera. Tonight I did the rest of the foot pegs (will post those pics soon)

now you just need to get some Jewelers rouge and a buffer to finish it up with. That's what I always used on my douglas aluminum wheels on my banshee, and they looked like Chrome afterwards. Good job on the poslishing... Now have fun keeping it shiny lol

An old trick is to paint the polished parts with clear lacquer. It will stay nice indefinitely or it can wear off in high use areas like the brake lever. The nice thing with lacquer is you can wipe in down with lacquer thinner a 100 years from now and it will come right off.
Use something like lacquer thinner or paint prep to get any wax off before you spray it. You can get clear lacquer in most stores that sell paint in spray cans.

I stripped my rims of the brown paint . There is beautiful aluminum under there for a personal look to the 14
