Man, I thought my Tsukigi was loud. (full system w/ss can)
That thing is gonna be crazy.
Kind of a muzzy fan, eh sticks?
Seeing how they all got similar designs (stealin?) 4-2-1 etc. blah blah blah
they will all be close.
Tsukigi was doing the racing thing in Japan in the 70's when ol Muzzy was here in the USA.
They are just different to Us.
How do you like the 3 degree advance set up?
Will probably do it once I got the spare change to redo my map.

Running 2 deg adv. right now, works fine and easy to use. I'm a Muzzy fan for two reasons: There systems work outstanding, and they are by a long shot the most affordable exhausts out there. Paying thousands of $$$ for 6' of 2" titianium tubing is ridiculous IMO. Doesnt hurt that they are also local (Portland), and when i've called I get put on directly to one of the Muzzy brothers normally. Brocks has some outstanding customer service of there own, probably even surpassing Muzzy's, but for 300+ dollars more they should!

The m10 is supposed to make more power then the tsukigi, but I'm not really sure about that anymore. My butt dyno says the m10 is faster, but we all know that is very deceiving. The Tsukigi was a better system as far as quality goes, but I made some money making the switch, plus I like the sound and looks of the muzzy better. I'm happy with my exhaust system, but I wish I would have known the difference between the m10 and the m10/m14, I thought they all used the same header, boy was I wrong. I've heard it can be up to a 6 hp difference between the two!

Either way, I have an m14 prostock sidewinder that I put up for sale. I know that would make CRAZY power, but I decided that I don't want a sidewinder after all.......

I dont have the M14/M10 set up. It's a standard Muzzy full system. I have owned ONLY Kawasaki bikes with Muzzy pipes for the past 11 years. I did my research. I know it's not a well known company in the US. But, they are not new to the game. I'm not switching to the Tsukigi Cannon to make LESS power. I am not saying the Cannon will make more power than the M14/M10. Just more power than my standard full system. I don't have a problem posting my before and after Dyno results.

BUT......... If it makes just as much power as the big boys with a smaller price tag($800 shipped), it will be a win for us all.

I dont think people understand that there are various types of tsukigi pipes, and The Cannon is not the same as the shorty style muffler.... The thread clearly says "CANNON" and i dont hear anyone talking about the cannon? I have HP numbers of my cannon up, I dont hear of any muzzy HP/Torque numbers that are better?

Shankrr you cannot EVER compare dyno numbers from different dyno's. Hell, you cant even compare dyno numbers from the same dyno but different days and hope they are accurate! Your typical rear wheel dyno has so many variables with make, model, amount of use and how long since it was factory calibrated that I'm not even gonna mention all the environmental variables because its a moot point - dyno's are just a tuning tool, not a true power meter.

Testing the different bikes/ setups is only accurate on "The Same Day on The Same Dyno" which is a oft repeated statement around here. For instance, my friends '06 ZX10 was claiming to make 192hp, then he went on another dyno and it read 182hp. Then at the big shootout last year he came within .9hp of taking the 1000cc win with a 152.11hp readout. Gilberjj, Ninja of Doom and a few others were there with our 14's, and I took the overall win by 6hp with a measly 170.7hp reading.

So now that you know shankrr, buy it cuz you like it or you like the price or whatever you like.
I bought mine here from a guy that sold his 14.
Reasons;
Full stainless system for 1/2 price.
The fantastic welds and thicker gauge of metal.
Needed something to hold up to Wa. winter riding.

If I had to do it again I would go with Brocks carbon can and customer support
or Muzzys for the same reason sticks did. Proximity and HP.
Then ceramic coated the headers on both.
As it is, I'm very happy with the Tsukigi.
$500 for a flawless full system that I've beat the crap out of loading in trailers for track days.
Seen more time on wet roads then dry.
And it sounds bad ass for the teen in Me.
looks nice too but there are other set ups much nicer looking.

Sticks,

What shankrr is saying is, the Tsukigi pipe you are comparing your Muzzy too is not the pipe we are talking about. The Tsukigi full system with the small can is not their best flowing exhaust. The Cannon is. It is the exhaust in Smokin's post. The reason I'm making the switch is the Cannon makes the same power as theM14/M10 set up. But, the quality is way better and the price is much cheaper. As for customer support, I get my bikes custom tuned so no need for map support. Let's not bash an exhaust just because it's not a Brock or a Muzzy. If I lose power with it, I will be the first to let everybody know.

No problem Jaay, I'm just saying that Muzzy always gets a bad rap when people talk about "Quality" exhausts when they have one of the best, for the cheapest price. And yes, My M14 setup with a oval canister (was told its the M10 street canister) costs $720.

This site doesnt carry the Cannon for the 14 yet, but this is what they show.

I went from the Muzzys SS 650.00 to the Brocks sidewinder, 1000.00+ if I remember right, back the Muzzys. No difference in ET and can turn hard right with the Muzzys. I give the fit to Muzzys, the support to Brock. I think I would keep the Muzzys and take the cash and slap a dry kit on that bad boy. Why spend big money on little hp when you can throw little cash at big hp?

Now I don't know how much of anything that I believe from him... but Greg at HPC told me that the reason there's really not much of a push from them on the cannon is that it makes about 3hp less than the standard tsukigi oval.

PM still down... hey Sticks can you email me any dyno information on the M14?

I have just purchased a used M14 (Shane) and when I called Muzzy they said they don't do dyno charts. Ivans had a few but no Muzzy on a 14. Did you gain any HP and torque with M10 meg in place of the stainless M14 oval on your M14 head pipes??

labartay@charter.net

Thanks
Louis

any dyno chart will be different than what you'll see because different dynos put out different numbers. Altitude and air plays a huge part too.

I know, I worked at D&D back in the day. :-). just wanted to see the curve from 3 to 6K
RPM.vs stock. Not really looking at Peak #s just wanted to see if it had any spikes down low . And % of gain across the curve. And will a M10 meg help my M14 headers like the same on a Brock system. I was looking at a Gen 3 with CF but this used M14 was 1/2 the price. Johnny Cheese is a few hours from where I live. When I can afford it I will have him do a dyno tune.
Again peak#s will vary from what you see on line, air/fuel and Torque band is what I am wanting to see. CW claimed 170 RWHP on a Stock 06 14. Look at all the #s you see on You tube. Some high and some really low. Hence Muzzy does Not post a dyno chart.

Sorry LAB3, I've never done a full dyno session, just dyno shootouts where they only give you Peak HP numbers - though I did video the dyno screen during my run. View it in HD, skip to what I recorded from 5:42 on:

Thanks, I will look at it. I noticed you too have a Muzzy advancer. Muzzy said 4 degrees
so I set mine there, runs great and I use 93 Shell gas. Why did you set your's at 3?
Wish Fish would fix PM I hate stepping on a post.

Gas reasons: I usually use 87 octane when I'm commuting to work or doing a dyno run, and 91 octane when I'm having fun.

I noticed on your Dyno run you still had the oval muffler on. Did you gain any with M10 meg?

hey sticks... why the hell would you run 91 when having fun? more octane = less power and costs more.

More octane means less worry about blowing up my engine from detonation that I cant hear! Especially when I'm up in the thin air of the higher elevations where I like to run without being bothered by the police. For the occasional blast around town I dont worry about it, but once I get engine heat soak going on from sustained racing you increase your chances of detonation. At least it makes sense in my head! lol

Oh yeah: I was told by the sales rep that what I have is the M10 oval street can. The M10 megaphone is what you are referring to, which I dont have. I've also heard that the muffler I have is called a M14, but thats not what I was told by the rep - the M14 designation refers only to the head pipe. If Muzzy ever browsed this forum like Brock does we could find out the real answer! Guess thats part of the *extra* support that you get with a Brocks...
