Just an update on the Michelin tire/track day. I arrived at the track yesterday and it was 40 degrees or less. I set the tire pressure at 17 lbs, per Crotchrockets advice. The tire hooked like glue! The Power Race Soft is a sweet tire! It never spun all day, with temps in the 40's for much of the day...and not much sun in the afternoon.
Other than that, the bike performed pretty well. I ran back-to-back 9.30 passes (personal bests)...I kept banging on the door all day...but I had to settle for numerous 9.30-9.31 runs. I also ran my first 5 second 1/8th mile times...a couple of 5.98's.
MPH was pretty good. 148 mph in the 1/4, and 120 mph in the 1/8th with me at 225 lbs. suited.

Thanks for the update!!! This tire is no joke!! I keep telling people that, and yet some people still don't take me seriously.

I may have to try one of these....2.5 pounds less rotating mass is highly appealing if it will hook on an ok track... its gotta stick on the top end too though, Im spraying big next yr
anyone know if bikes with lots of nitrous or a turbo do well with this tire?
Pat, I sent you a pm, congrats on the ET, and you are flying on motor!

A friend of mine runs them on his 220 hp gsxr1000 track bike. It's the exact same setup that jeremy toye runs at willow springs. He doesn't seem to have any problems out of it, and it's been 190mph.

I see them on Ebay for about $200 shipped. The tire should last quite a while....

You can get a 'scuff' from Richie's Tires for about $80 tyd. The middle is basically untouched on these scuffs. That's what I use, and they last 150+ passes.
