Tire pressure gage...What do you use?
Newbie question, I know. Just trying to see if the expensive ones are worth the
money. Thanks.

I only check my air before a ride, because the most accurate readings are when the tires are cold. I have a cheap $20 air compressor with a gauge on it that I use. I don't utilize tire pressure gauges because I do it at the home when they're cold for a true reading. I highly recommend doing it that way.

I am well aware of how to check my tire pressure. My question was geared towards
the drag racers and what they are using at the track.

Oh, I must've missed where it said the question was related to drag racing, which is irrelevant to the question anyways because checking it is checking it. Hell use the one that comes in automobiles if you want. Unless the gauge is broken I don't see how it would matter.
Also, it's cool to see another Dayton Ohio folk on the board.
I'm a twisty rider and highspeed feller btw, but frequent Kil-Kare now and then. See ya around maybe.

I had a cheap one, (Accugauge?), I just threw it in the trash it was so mis-calibrated. The track went away last night and I tried to take my pressure down to 10lbs. It was actually 6lbs and made the carcass concave, which will also make a tire loose traction and spin. I borrowed a Moroso gauge from somebody and figured it out.

Get a good gauge - they last long. You don't need no 200$ gauge, but if the gauge costs 2$ You know that it can't be of good quality. Digital ones are usually more repeatable, but there are also bad examples in them too. Buy one of a quality maker and forget it. Use only the one and same if You play with the pressures. So You know that it always measures the same. And handle it genty!

I use the craftsman hand held air compressor. It uses the 18-19.2 drill batterys...it is the shit! It will fill a flat rear tire to 30 psi in about a minute.

i use a moroso gauge just like this one ^
the flexible rubber hose makes it easier to maneuver around, and i assume its relatively accurate and measures up to 60psi. i got it from amazon.com for around $50.

Guys, thanks for the replies. Countersteer, thanks for the picture. I will probably go with
that one. NinjaNick I will be at Tri State on the next 2 Saturdays. Look for the blue streak
going down the track.
