Anyone having nay reliability issues with flies out on an 08?

Been reading the forums for the past few months and still can't make up my mind, I have extended warranty which was thrown in with the bike for free. I want to keep stock exhaust as loud bikes around here tend to cause trouble. Also I have noticed most people say it's best to get a custom map made for flies out. Being from Newfoundland, Canada having a custom map made is not going to happen as to the best of my knowledge there are no tuners here. So my question is this, is anyone having issues using a stock exhaust map from Dynojet website with no flies and is it worth giving up my warranty if I want to stick with stock cans or should I just go with 16T sprocket up front for the low end pull I want. Thanks for the help.

It would surprise me you would lose your warranty with removing your secondary flies. BUT... I took mine out and the bike was not happy. I tried a couple of "flies out" canned maps and none felt good. I put mine back in. The stock exhaust is killing your performance. I got 15 hp gains with both Muzzy M10(too loud for me) and my current Yoshimura.

What kind of Yoshi you running Cruisin? I like the look of dual cans is the other major issue with switching exhaust, you have full system or slip ons? How loud you find it by the way?

Here ya go. It is actually quieter than I like but I couldn't handle the M10 - very loud.

I've got an 08' with flies out and a brocks smeg. No issues here, the pipe is a little on the loud side, but the bike runs great. You will need to make sure that you get a map that compensates for the flies being out or you will have a lean condition at 4 to 5K. I would suggest a brocks GenIII exhaust, his maps work great and will give you others if you need it.

From what I've heard removing the flies on an 08 doesn't do much if anything. The 08's are supposedly down on hp to the 06-07's because of overly rich mapping. According to some tuners just a pc on a bone stock 08 with a map tuned for performance instead of emmissions will give you more power

What a load of fucking shit -- look at my sig. These "tuners" you speak of -- they probably can't install a fucking spark plug, leave alone tune an engine...my 08 is very fast and pulls harder than my 06 did...-- do you have an 08? I've had 2 ZX14's and a C14. Over 40k miles between the 2 ZX's.

Can't see why a properly installed PC keeping the A/F ratio correct with flies out would invalidate the warranty. Isn't it going to depend on how you use the bike? For example If you blew the engine up racing then it might be a different story, or if you tuned it and it spat you off.

Okay, lots of replies and opinions, as for my other question, as I can't get to a tuner to have a map made is the stock map on dynojets site good enough for a flies out bike with stock cans or would I have to try and make something work? Basically I don't want to spend a couple hundred $ on a PCIII and not be able to get the thing running properly without swapping exhaust.

I had the dealer take my flies out and install a pcIII. As long as they did the work, they would honor my extended warranty. They charged me $120.00 total labor. It was well worth it.
