Only difference is emissions crap that changed over the years. The 08 has a few internal engine changes and flies that open alot sooner, though. Its more a matter of the 2006 models being well broken in and there riders having more years on them so they can maximize there bikes capabilities better. Same thing with the first Busa's. Everyone claimed (and some still do) that they were the best Busa's to buy and "made the most power" were "the fastest" etc... until the 08 Busa came out. Give any high perf bike 6-10k miles of good use and it will make more power than a new bike, hands down.
