Been crying all night
Went for a short ride Sunday afternoon. Drove over the mother of all speedbumps and pushed the drain plug up through the oil pan. Lost $65 worth of new Royal Purple (oil change a week ago) and now waiting for the bill for HAZMAT clean-up for the spill.
Anyone know of a company/backyard mechanic who is making a pan with the plug re-posiitoned away from the underside? I've seen the Adam's, but at $850 (and it won't accept the exhaust I'm running) it's not an option.

It seems by now Kawi would've done something about the drain plug design. If you search the forum you'll see all sorts of solutions from welding the plug to a different location, to upteen million dollar replacement billet oil pans

You can send your pan to Coby and have him patch the hole and move the drain plug .. I think it's around 400 bucks and you are ready to go ....
If i had busted my pan like you did i would have rolled my bike way down the road and when asked about the oil spill i would have said what oil spill ?

Smokin - I did push the bike away but left a very noticable trail to follow. Clean up was because the oil was flowing downhill into a drain that empties into a salmon spawning area.
Bill - I'll contact you tomorrow.

Spent the evening removing the pan - what a PITA! Noticed a new issue - lower portion of the exhuast has a significant dent (thankfully not punctured through!). Is it possible an exhuast shop can push the dent out? It's close to a joint to be able to insert a tool/fixture.
