More wheelie problems

Went on a ride out Hwy 20 this weekend and hit a stretch in the middle of nowhere. Front end was not behaving

Sucks when the front end doesn't want to behave.

I absolutely love that road from Rockport to Winthrop. Been over it 4 times this past summer. It is faster on 2 wheels though LOL!!
Another good one is down the east side of Mt St Helen from Randel to Carson on the Columbia river. The guys back east may think that the Tail of the Dragon is the "be all and end all. " If they had the opportunity to run some of our mountain roads that go on forever with minimal traffic and enforcement their eyes would be opened up.
Have fun, the snows are getting close up high!!!

lol i KNEW someone would say something. I wore gloves for the ride. This was a spur of the moment, 2 minute wheelie session. If you know how to use a rear brake and know what you're doin, meh.

Ride on!

So what is your favorite speed/gear for riding wheelies? Power or clutch?

I do 1st gear whoolies. I dont need to wheelie over 80mph. I start at 4k rpm, and it only takes a light roll on/roll off to jump the front. Ive never tried clutching it up. I hear thats the way to go but i dont wheelie enough to practice it.

Was this trip a high speed hooligan fest like the Monkey Butt 300 a few weeks ago? Only time I got under a 100mph was when cars got in the way, which was only temporary.

2nd gear wheelies are much more stable imo. how long can you walk those wheelies in first?

I cant balance, but i get _really_ close, so i can ride it a decent ways. I havent found the right RPM to efficiently power them up in 2nd. Hints?

And Sticks, nah this was a brisk pace but nothing _too_ crazy. Some of the passing was though.... :P

Just having done a track day, i didnt feel the need to scrub the edges of the tires.

Well shoot, guess I should have gone just to egg you ladies on, then.

Instead I spent the day hauling all the debris leftover from just having moved out of my garage, building a whole wall full of shelves, then running everything that didnt fit on the shelves to the dump. Loads and loads of fun as you can imagine.

for 2nd gear wheelies, i pull up on the bars a little at 60 mph, and it stands right up. i can walk it to the limiter every time, but i can't really find that balance point yet. my goal is to walk it for a mile or more. i still haven't ever tried a stand up wheelie, but I heard they are easier.

Well since nobody wanted to post any I had to take my own. My wife needs as much work on the camera as I do on the bike.
