Land Speed World loses Dave Owen
It has just been reported that Dave Owen, a friend and admirer by many of us in the Land Speed World and others on this site, just lost his life this weekend at Maxton doing what he loved to do and that was go fast. Apparently he lowered his head to go through the traps at around 216 mph and never lifted his head again as reported by those in attendance.
He loved to help people, even those he did not know. May he RIP.

RIP Dave, I talked to hm on the phone a few times when I just built my turbo bike. He would talk for hours even if he did not know you!

Met him at Lees Performance, great guy with an unbelievable amount of knowledge in the world of fast motorcycles...I can't believe this, I feel for his family

R.I.P. At least he died doing what he had passion for and not something less. Condolences for his friends and family

I saw this reported on our 200mph website in the UK. Very sad, a lot of people spoke very highly of Dave, R.I.P. buddy.
