Flies Removed + Other Stuff Added
I had to change my tires this weekend (5800 miles in 9 weeks) so since I wasn't going anywhere I figured yesterday would be a good time to start enhancing the bike.
My list included fly removal, Brock Gen 3 CF, Power Commander, Speedo Healer, Change brake and clutch lines, change front brake pads, remove canister, install Hugger, radiator gaurd and swing arm spools.
Staring with the Fly Removal, I had a lot of anxiety and possible even missed a night of sleep, but I have read so many post regarding fly removal that I was able to do it by memory.
My wife had the Klien screwdriver I picked up in the Van with her, so I ran to home depot and picked up their Husky Pro #2 screwdriver they were out of the longer Kliens. The run warmed up the motor so after I removed the bodywork, I proceeded with the fly removal.
Warm motor, Tighten then loosened all screws, then removed the loosened screw and with a magnetic pickup pulled it out.
The Bike is still apart after 16 hours with a 2 hour break for a meeting, I gave in around 2AM. I'm task oriented and try to get things done in one shot but when tools started disappearing in my hand I figured it was time to call it a night/morning.
I was able to take a quick run up the street to warm the bike up for the TPS calibration (it was reading 2% at idle) and could feel a difference, cant wait to get it back together and take a midnight run to open her up
I still have about 2.5 hours of work to do , mainly bleeding the lines and putting it back together
I'll post pics when done.

I'M taking it that you sync that 2% closed tps setting and zero'ed it out? You may also want to check wot, sometimes this will be 95-97% on the 14's. I recalibrate the 14's on every 2nd oil change, it becomes just part of the maintance routine per brock's recomendation. If you already know this just disregard....... Bil

Thanks for the info, I did Zero it out, but I didn't know that it had to be recalibrated as a part of maintenance.
I thought it was a set it and forget type thing.

In theory it is,but if you read brock's forums on maint, it should be checked every so often along with the map. It only takes a few minutes and like i said above they do get off!! Bill...
