Crankcase vent

Has anyone disconnected the vent tube from the crankcase to the air box as a modification? If so, did you notice any changes good or bad. Thanks.

hook the crankcase up to the air injection system, and plug the air box to air injection on the exhaust side of the valve cover.

The exhaust will draw out the positive crank pressure!

Dubious, are you referring to the port in the air box that gets plugged when you install
a Brock's exhaust? I'm trying to get a good mental picture of your description as I am at
work right now and can't look at my bike. I will look at my manual tonight to get a better
idea. Have you done this on your bike? Thanks.

Nelson, all it is, is pulling the hose out of the airbox and putting a cap in the hole and shove the hose back in the box. Or you can take the hose out get you a 1/2" bolt with some flat washers, little dab of RTV on top and bottom washers and tighten bolt till it just starts to squeeze out the rubber grommet. Then grab hold of the clean air switch and give it a tug to take it out. Unplug the wire and get a piece of 3/8" fuel or tranny hose and put back in place of the switch and your clean air system is pretty much gone. That's the cheap way to block off the clean air system costs about 5 bucks, or you can order a set off Muzzy block off plates that comes with a plug for the air box for about 50. I went the cheap way when I put my new header gaskets in. Nothing too it. It's easier than pulling the flies. As Dubious is referring to he's making the clean air system work as a Positive Crankcase Ventilation or PCV as it's commonly refered too. Pulling a vaccum on the crankcase typical makes a better ring seal.

It takes longer to take all the fairings off to get there than it does to take off the clean air system. Can't answer as for the power gains because I'm doing all my mods before I go for a custom map.

It has shown 1 to 2 hp on dyno results with zx12s in the past.

I would think the 14 would be similar.

I have it on my 12. I have run 124 mph in the 1/8 mile several times, with stock internal motor, and bolt ons, all motor, no nitrous on the bike at all.
