Today's Projects- Video Cam, Gsxr Drag Seat

I had the day off and decided to work on Racheal's bike a little. After seeing Sitcks n Stones thread with the videos, I figured it would be a good time to install the video camera that I got Racheal last year.

I got her the Motocomm DSR-100. It's a nice little unit and it comes with lots of cables and widgets to make it work in your application. It can play mp3's, video, and takes an SD-Card. Be aware that there are a couple of different models...but they are functionally the same. We ordered two, and each was a different revision.

About a year or so ago we bought them from: http://www.twinjugsracing.com

Here are a few pics of the install on the GSXR, but you could set it up similarly on the 14:

I tried to get the mic out of the wind to some extent, and it came out pretty good. The whole install took about 1 hour. Here is a test video:

I still need to play with the focus and such...but definitley usable video.

I also took a few minutes to install a step seat. Racheal is pretty short, and even with the bike lowered she can't get as low to the ground as we'd like. So far her best 60' is 1.55, but she might be able to do even better if she is more comfortable on the bike.

The seat is a Catalyst carbon fiber...another part that has been sitting for close to a year:

The seat feels pretty good, but I would call it "cramped" for a bigger guy. Should be no problem for her though. I have the Catalyst seat on the 14, and have had one on the 12 as well...they are great.

They are great.........

I would love to have one of those cameras...., would be nice to watch my tach as I tune the clutch, but being able to hear it on a video is good enough............
