ZX14 rims. on ZX10. ????

What do you guys think.

Can it be done? and if so. How???

I have a set of chrome rims for my zx14. However, they are to micuh in weight. SO...........

I was thinking if I could some how fit them on my zx10.

Both are 2006 models.

I'm thinking..................I could possibly put zx10 wheel bearings in the wheels. change the calipers to zx14 calipers, and keep the zx14 rotors.

That might work....

ANYONE??????????????

Carrozzeria told me my 14 wheels would not fit a 10 or any other bike.....Why??

I don't want to be a smart ass but why would you want to put heavier wheels on a bike with less power? It looks like kawi took man hole covers and put tires around them for the 14.
I have heard of 10 wheels being put on the front of the 14 but they have a different size axle for the back. You might get around switching bearings...experment and tell us your results, I'm curious myself.

You have both bikes and sets of wheels at your disposal. It sounds like you are in a better position to find a solution than the rest of us....

Good Luck with it. Me personally would rather have the 10 on the front its a pain working around those Y's and rotors trying to clean the front

As long as axle size is the same..that is the hardest part. All the rest of it would just be spacing to get the calipers right.

You will have to check the kawi part numbers for brgs.
I can't remember 100%, but before I went with the GSXR1000 wheels, I looked at zx10 wheels for the 14.
If I remember correctly, the 06 zx10 frt axle is same diameter as the frt axle on the 14, and the 05 zx10 rear axle was same diameter as the zx14.

I am not 100% sure, but beleive the spacing will be the same for those conversions, for calipers, and rotor diameters

Checking out the parts fiche's will assist and save frustration and some time wrenching

Ben there done that! The wheels will fit between the forks and the swing arm. You will need a machinist to create some spacers and an axle for the rear and the front.

The zx14 wheels carry a larger axle. The aren't any bearings that will fit in the rim to match the orifice of the bearings, nor will you find it the reverse way. I took my stuff to NAPA and they couldn't match up a smaller bearing with a larger hole......

You can change the forks and the axle then it will work.
