I will once I get a chance to get "out of town" where the roads are safer. Not sure how the ZX14 would react to 6" deep 12" wide chicken killers called NYC Potholes when leaning at 45+ degrees. LOL ;o)

Here are pictures with stand pinstriped and "named"- ZX14.com.
In the numbered picture, here are the pipe lengths before assembly:

1= 14.75" then bent slightly.
2= 19.75"
3= 5"
4= 19"

Each pipe was then threaded and inserted ABOUT 1/2" into each coupling and welded in place. Couplings are standard 1" Black Pipe elbows and a "T" fitting.

Trust me I understand. The best roads I've ever hit was way out in Oakland, Maryland where I brought my bike to when I was working out there. I got spoiled on how nice their roads are. I am ALWAYS terrified when going into any turns in Northern NJ or the five boroughs. Useful info on the pics by the way.

Most of the guys around here will probably tell you, MIG's the way to go. After an hour or so of practicing on shit that doesn't matter it is almost like a hot glue gun for steel. Almost any hack can produce good stuff. The best tip I can give you is to get a good angle grinder, ear muffs and goggles. You can grind away lots of shit welding, and as you'd know in your line of work, a coat of paint can cover a multitude of sins : )
Everything in my new workshop was made with a cheap MIG on my first try. 1st shelves (average), 2nd gas bottle trolley (not bad), 3rd bike stand (pretty tidy).

After trying to oil my chain a few links at a time, I got pissed off and fabricated this stand from 1" black pipe, 4 elbows and two bolts. It ain't too pretty yet but it gets the bike up 5 inches of the ground with little effort and is quite stable.

That ain't even ghetto. That's pure REDNECK! Not only is it ugly, it's stupid! You dare disgrace the mighty 14 with a piece of sheet, stand like that? That tells me you spent your life's savings to buy the bike.

Perhaps you missed the pics above of the finished stand that was painted? Doesn't look TOO bad. As far as spending my life's savings??? Nahhh, I don't think so. The house and truck I just bought took care of THOSE. lol

If somebody could supply a detail of the cradles that hold the swingarm up, I'd sure appreciate it. Also, are you using bolts instead of swingarm spools? I'm gonna make me one forthwith.

I purchaed a forward facing pit bull stand and love it. However, if I had a welder sitting around I certainly would have made my own stands. NYC, nice job...and they are inexpensive!

The "cradles" are simple notches cut and filed into the ends of the pipe which was also sanded and rounded smooth so as not to scratch the swingarm in case I accidently hit it with the stand.. The "spools" are bolts with large heads held in place with red loc-tite.
Finish is black gloss Rustoleum (spelling?) paint applied thick and baked on with an industrial heat gun.

Thanks. Best part is with the handle on the stand and my rear grab rail on the bike, I can pop the bike right up all by myself with VERY little effort.
