Tapping into TPS/RPM From PCUSB?
I'm getting ready to hook up my data logger, but am not certain which wires I want to use for tps and rpm. I have heard that you can actually tap into these signals on the Power Commander wiring harness, as opposed to the factory one.
Has anyone done this, and if so, which wires did you attach to? I suspect these will be fairly clear signals.

interesting ideas Shane. I wonder if you could also get injector duty cycle from that?

I think so. Now that I think about it more, it would be ideal to tap into the cable for the lcd, since it is detached. I am going to investigate more when I can get ahold of Dynojet.

I did find this info over on Psychobike:
"Hey guys. didnt get the good clear signal i wanted off that wire so i called power comander and man did i ever get a easy answer....The grey wire on the wideband, the pc3usb also uses a grey wire for TP so just link those together in the harness and you get a real clear signal. EASY EASY to do. "
I can't confirm this as working, but it's just perhaps once piece of the puzzle.

I would imagine this subject has been done to death somewhere. I wish I knew where! I checked the Innovate message board, but didn't get much good information.

Are you saying both grey wires are TPS, or the wideband gives RPM and USB gives TPS.

I'm not saying it works or not...I found the above information posted on Psychobike. Dynojet might confirm, but it seems that their pinouts are top secret??
Apparently the grey wire on both the wideband and power commander are both tps.
The lcd displays tps, rpm, and injector cycle. What signals are being sent via the cable, I don't know. That's where the pinout is needed.

I know the white wire with the red stripe is the one we used to get a clear signal on the dyno. We checked almost every wire and couldn't get one to work...called DJ and ta da...one of the last ones we didnt try.

The white wire with red stripe on the pcusb?
If so, that is great news. That would mean that rpm and tps points have been determined.

Yes, I was looking for rpm and tps from the power commander harness. It looks like we may have found those two.
If the information I found on tps is accurate and your info is for the rpm, then we can tap those points for a data logger it would seem...without hunting for a clean signal on the factory harness. At least that is what I am hoping to be the case.

I'm sorry guess i should have read your post a little better. The wire i was talking about was the one off the factory wiring harness.....but it might be the same wire for the pc. Sorry i can't be more help.

hey guys, the grey wire taps into the yellow & white wire on the main throttle sensor (the lower sensor on the throttle body). the white & red wire is for external log. the orange wire taps into the negative side of any coil.

Shane, do you have the PC3 hub? I think you would need it to tap into it.
I have lots of email conversations with a couple of the dynojet guys. I use a PC3, hub, timing module and my LCD on my snowmobile. It has nitrous, etc....I use my LCD on the bike in the summer!
Right now, I am just too tired to think about it....sorry. I need sleep!

hey shane,
you MUST get duty cycle downstream of the Powercommander as that's what the PC does, modify duty cycle of the ECU.

I was puzzled why DC was the same no matter what i put in the fuel matrix on the PC3r...

good information, I just ordered a Innovate LM-2 and am going to need it. I planned on using the same wire taps as my Raptor shift light for the RPM but had not looked into where to tap for the TP signal.
