Condor PS1500 Stand on the way
Just ordered a Condor PS1500 Pit Stop Trailer Stop Bike stand. I like the secure vertical position it keeps the bike in at home, plus it can be attached to a trailer to keep the bike secure during transportation. I have raptor bike stands for doing maintenance but after seeing one of these in action I had to have one. It should be here in a few days...

We sell the Baxley Bike Chock ( been using them for years ) and I looked at the Condor at the dealer show last Feb. Both fine units. You are going to wonder how you ever did without it once you start using it. I pickup used bikes and service bikes everyday and the chocks work perfectly. Roll the bike up the ramp into the chock and the bike just stands there, while I calmly put the tie downs on. At the race track, after using them to transport the bike there, when we unload we pull the chocks out and use use them in the pits. When you come off the track, just ride right into the chock and start looking for something to drink! No more lifting the bike on a stand while you are tired from riding. When you put your bike on the Pitbull stands, pull the bike into the Condor first, THEN put the rear stand under the bike. No more balancing act ............then just pickup a little on the rear stand and roll the bike right out of the Condor.........now your ready to put the bike on the front stand for maintenance and cleaning. Enjoy!
Enjoy!.............

I also use the Condors. It makes things really, really easy. The only problem I've had is that my garage floor is very slick. Without mounting the chock to the floor it tends to slide, making it hard to get the bike out. In the trailer they are worth their weight in gold, and trackside they work great for wrenching on the bikes.

Shane...............the Baxley has fat rubber ends on all corners.
They really stay firmly planted. Could you devise a way to get grippy rubber on the corners of you Condor? Maybe some of that tool handle rubber you dip into or something? Also, a piece of carpet under the stand may help keep it still............just an idea.........

Well, the rubber on the Condor is textured...but my floor is "shiny" concrete. I think I might be able to place a rubber wedge at the back of the Condor to keep it from sliding. I've not really given it too much attention yet.

Hmmm...............my wife said maybe some of that grippy shelf and drawer lining at WalMart attatched to the backside of a piece of carpet might do the trick. The Condor probably won't slide on the carpet as long as the carpet stays put on the floor................just another idea.......

Is this just to sturdy the bike? Seems this application won't allow the front wheel to move freely to spin it when cleaning the wheel and doing maintenance, nor does it raise the front?
As far as transport, I've used a canyon dancer for years and years without incident both in the back of trucks and on trailers. It seems without permanently installing this to the truck or trailer the canyon dancer is still the best option?
bigdtd, maybe I need to see yours when you get it, for some reason with you buying one it just seems I'm missing a huge point here and may want one too! For now I just love me some Pit Bull stands

I have not had good luck with the canyon dancers, particularly with the top mounted steering dampers. A canyon dancer is nowhere near as solid as a Condor. I can load two bikes into the trailer, strapped in, by myself, in less than 10 minutes, using the Condors.
Of course, ymmv.

kewl- Is the conder mounted down when you transport?
I've used the canyon dancers for years and years and it just takes me seconds. because it may not be as solid I use two estra straps on the rear of the bike anyway. for some bikes I've went under/around the triple tree and such.
maybe when I see bigdtd's setup in action I'll be sold on it like he was!? I may be ordering one too

Yes, it's mounted on a quick release (an accessory). One wingnut to install or remove. Very convenient!

Steve............I use the Baxley's every day. I don't mount them in the trailer or truck, I just set them in pushed to the front. When you roll the bike in it just sits there, letting you use the canyon dancer and tie downs just like usuall, only you don't have to hold the bike while doing it. Also, you just BARLEY have to snug the tie downs because the bike is so secure in the chock. ( easier on the seals and springs ) ( from my post above )... " When you put your bike on the Pitbull stands, pull the bike into the Condor first, ( or Baxley ) THEN put the rear stand under the bike. No more balancing act ............then just pickup a little on the rear stand and roll the bike right out of the Condor.........now your ready to put the bike on the front stand for maintenance and cleaning."
As you can see, it makes using the Pitbull stands easier and more secure. The other thing is when you get to.....lets say North Carolina........when you pull your bike from the truck, you also just reach in the truck bed and remove the chock.......and you can use it whever you are staying. They really are a great addition to your equipment for the bike.

They did a demo at the Cycle show and I was sold. They work great and are very secure. Really a well designed product that really works.

I think it may be in the way of putting on the front tire warmer?
I'm looking forward to seeing bigdtd's in action, I'll probably be sold then :P

The Condor works perfect for me...
When you put the stand together, put the shaft of the rocking cradle in the 1st. hole on the entrance side...That will give you the most clearence from the cradle to the bottom fairing, also makes it easier to pull the bike off the stand after day of riding or racing...The tire sticks to the stand from the heat...
When I transport my bike I strap the back down only and have a strap connecting the front rim to the uprite part of the stand to prevent the tire backing away when ratcheting the rear down...
Here are the straps and Tie downs I use:

Wheel tie: http://www.mrproducts.com/index.php?func=view&id=30&cookie=yes
The M&R tie down straps are 2 for $22 and you can order them made longer if you need...

got it day before yesterday, what a great product. it holds the bike securely from the front or the rear. i like having the bike level when it is not being ridden. it is very easy to use. it holds the bike firm for maintenance as well. highly recommend. there is a kit avalable if you want to mount it to a truck or trailer for an extra $22.

bigdtd.....I made a mistake...
When you put the stand together, put the shaft of the rocking cradle in the 1st. hole on the entrance side...
Change that to : put the shaft of the rocking cradle in the last. hole of the entrance side...
