ZX14 Stock Dyno numbers
Does anyone have numbers or a picture of their Dyno printout from a stock motor Dyno run? Interested to see if stock motors have consistent build quality.

Stock will vary a lot actually. I'm sure you would see anywhere from 160 to 170 at the wheel from a stock bike. It all depends on the dyno and elevation

Yeah, my 08 showed 161 hp and 100 ft/lbs torque on a hot and humid morning in central Texas. I was quite disappointed. Done by a very respected dyno/person. However, the first night I hit 1000 miles and opened her up, I was challenged by an 08 Busa and an 08 ZX-10 on a nice strip of highway. Pulled the 10 a little and slowly left him. The Busa jumped me but I caught and passed him around 150 before we shut it down. So go figure. At 161hp? Doesn't make sense, does it.

dynos don't account for the zx14's ram air system, that's why the busa may show more horsepower on the dyno, but the 14 wins on the track.

What about the AFR throughout the power band at operating temps. Does the Dyno graph indicate anywhere close to ideal (14.7 to 1) for standard fuel and air density. My new 08 ZX14 seems to run lean between 3 to 4 thousand; experiencing engine and bar vibration. Anyone have AFR numbers from their Dyno run?

I don't think the 08 run lean anywhere. They were set up pretty far from the factory....

peak horsepower will not describe acuurately the energy released throughout the rev range of a bike...torque plays a roll...and other factors..
Peak hp is that ; peak hp..sure it gives you a strong factor to aasert a bikes power but not the only one in play on a given run...
If you look a at a dyno sheet you will see variances in hp between two bikes that say as much or more (how they unfold) than just the peak hp produced by the two...
ability to rev...internal light parts also play a roll in my estimation of how quick a bike is...
my opinion..from studying the topic over the years...your opinion may vary..but I know peak hp is not the only measuring factor to determine total energy output on a given run....
also launching technique..rider skill weight ect..but that is beyond the scope of this thread probably...
nice to have a high peak hp..no doubt...
have fun... ...

Kawabonzai - After reviewing your graph you are lean below 5 k in comparison to the remaining numbers. Did you feel this on take off? You dialed your bike in nice with your upgrades. I believe my ratio is leaner at idle to 5k; need to get on the Dyno.

I think you mean that I am "rich" below 5k compared to the leaner readings above 5k.
My mod run is in red, the target line is I think 13.1
anything less than 13.1 is richer more towards a 1:1 ratio, and anything above is leaner towards 14.7:1.
Below 5500 rpm I was richer at 12.35 to 13.0.
After 5500 rpm I lean out to above 13.1 with a tiny dip in richness at 8200 rpm.
Am I reading that right? If not my cars are screwed up too, lol.
I loved all RPM ranges, it pulled hard all the way.
I wish I would have done my mods in stages, then I'd know what had the most impact on power.
I hear folks complaining about the Muzzy mapping, but I dyno's my bike a week apart and liked what I saw. My butt-dyno approved as well.
