New Trans=Missed Shifts?
I have been having some issues with clutchless shifting, just 2nd-3rd, at the dragstrip. Basically, when I try to shift up by preloading the shifter, it won't go into 3rd a lot of the time.
The bike only has 1200 miles on it, and shifts fine otherwise. I saw a mention of this in Brock's diary. At this point I have about 30 passes on the bike.
Has anyone else noticed something like this, and does it get better as the miles rack up, as Brock suggested it might?

Ok, thanks for the info. It is pretty frustating to run 6.51@72 mph! But the guy in the other lane loves it!
I am going to install the air shifter soon, but it's good to know that the trans will get better with time.

I notice this too with my '08, and ive never been to the dragstrip. Clutchless shifting 3rd-->6th is butter smooth, but 2nd-3rd has a bit of a clunk to it. I hope that smooths out. Im at 1500 miles myself.
I guess im just spoiled from riding my wife's '08 Gixxer 1000. That is the most unbelievable tranny ive ever used. even clutchless 1-2 shifts feel like 1/2" shifter movements, and are just as smooth as 5-6 shifts. /drool

anyone had issues like mine with clutchless 2-1 shifting ??
seems to pulsate like it's going to pop into neutral ... doesn't do it if I clutch .. but that isn't fun ..

Motul 300V made a huge difference in clutchless upshifts on mine. Also runs one "bar" cooler in town.

don't do clutchless downshifts .... it can be done, but parts can break too!

ckutchless downshift .. why would you not if you know how ??
I have not used clutches in M%'s .. SHO's .. and all bikes I have ever owned ... the clutch is for gettign into first ...
tell me .. have you all done PERFECT upshifts everytime ever ?? no .. so the odd time there is a mishap .. shit happens .. the system can take it .. ( most truckers don't clutch down either ) just a matter of matching speeds and ratios same as upshift just with one extra blip... same same .. no different ..
I ground my gears in my first 5-speed Celica for 3 years .. changed the tranny oil and not a bit of visible gold in there ... nice ...
so from then on . I figured .. they can take the odd grind ... just be nice and don't try to hurt it ,... when i miss.. in comes the clutch .. and a blip and off we go .. no harm no foul..
but on the downshift .. it is perfect everytime !! .. not an issue to be had ... but this is the first bike that has issues ... ONLY from 2nd to 1st ... never anyplace else ...
I've never felt it .. and the shop could neither reproduce nor explain or find issue with the parts .. so .. I have to live with it or just stop it for the one gear ... it's a truly wierd feeling ... never a total pop to neutral .. but the pulsing makes me question the clutch system ...
PS .. 6 years of zx-11 clutchless.. 6 years of Katana 1100 clutchless .. too many cars to count ..
so if you havn't done it .. I can only as why ?? and if ya thin kof saying .. that's what the clutch is for .. don't ... I ride in sandles .. .I'll win .. lol ...
