A must have for any one with a Colby oil pan and Brock sidewinder
Hey guys, just letting everyone know if you had clearence issues with the Colby Adams oil pan and the Brock sidewinder exhaust like I did, your prays have been answered. The problem was that the oil filter was touching the headers, even with the shorter filters. I got in touch with Exotic Cycles in Florida and he made an outstanding filter relocater that can install the oil filter in four different directions. The workmanship of this piece is flawless and everything went together perfect. I'm sure he will make more of these. I will post before and after photos later. Exotic Cycles (941) 360-3278 ask for John.

The pan's are $850. They make a 2" and a 1.5". I got the 1.5" from Schnitz and love it. Just remember this is for drag racing only because with this pan, you must remove the oil cooler to install the oil filter in its place. The bike heats up alot quicker now, good enough for one pass and then you have to cool down for 15 minutes at least to get the temp. down.

Ninjaboy311, with the 2'' pan I hold almost 6 qts of oil, how much do u hold in the 1.5'' pan? And do u think that the Orient clutch cover has any thing to do with it ? The cover has a site glass in it.

oil pan
Ninjaboy 311, I hate to break your heart, but I have used Adams pans for over a year with out a oil cooler. No room for that thing, got a big turbo where the cooler use to sit. I have three turbo zx14's in house that I play with, and one of them is ridden on the street from time to time without any oiling issues. I have also beat the hell out of all of those bikes on the dyno with some repeatitive runs. And by the way I live in Florida, its hot here. I use the most expensive oil you can buy; castol gtx, or rotella; ha, ha, just joking its not too expensive, I buy it at wal-mart. But I had to let you know that just not a true statment.

I hold 5 quarts in the 1.5" pan with no issues.

You're not breaking my heart. I'm just stating the facts as I see them. I race every single weekend and since I've installed the pan, the bike heats up alot quicker. Who wants to get to the line with their temperature bar all the way to the top??? I use Amsoil fully synthetic which dissipates heat quicker than pretty much any other oil and I use Engine Ice as a coolant and the bike still gets how fairly quick. I race in South Louisiana so I know all about heat. I'm not downgrading the pan by any means, because its a great piece, just stating my experience that's all.
