8 second vids?

Hey smokin... do you have any videos of you running 8's on your bike? We're discussing the whole zx14 vs. busa thing over on the 109 boards and someone brought up the 12 year old running 8's on a gen 1 busa. I want to be able to throw them a link of a grown man running 8's on a zx14.

Here is one 1/8 mile pass ... 5.59 @ 130 .. That would have been a 8.50s @ 163+ in the 1/4 mile ..

By the way, yes there was a 12 year old kid that ran 8s on a gen 1 busa but the thing is, it was a grudge busa. That kid is amazing and the bike is crazy. Cut seat rails. a lot of arm, grudge chasis I mean the works. Slick slider and everything. well maybe it was a street tire but is was not a street bike that ran those 9s.

Here are some of my 8 second passes as well. The busa on the side of me was turbo and I wasw foot shifting with a hand clutch and a shorter bike. That busa is nothing to play with though.

I wish there was a video just showing how you guys release your clutch. I read somewhere that I should ride the clutch out. How do you do that with those hydrolic clutches? My clutch lever seems to move only a half inch from fully depressed to fully released.

Mine at 62 inches i can just toss the clutch ....No real siding ... I have mine back at stock wheel base now and you have to slide it but the zx14 clutch is the easiest clutch to ( ride)side i have ever owned ... Tons of travel and a real nice feel ... Sounds to me yours may have a problem ..

Hmmmm.... brand new bike. Less than 2000 miles. Any idea what could be wrong? When I used to play with cars we used to install larger clutch lines to improve the response of releasing the pressure plate. I wonder if there is a way to install smaller clutch lines on my bike to make the clutch release slower. You think it would work? Or do I need practice, practice, practice? Thanks for your response.

Don't worry you will get it, just don't give up .... We all had to pay the piper for the need for speed ..

Thanks. Let you know how it goes. Looks like you have some scripts invested in your bike. You said you're back to the stock wheel base. What happened to your extended swingarm? In your video, looks like you have an air shifter and a bottle, too. So tell me something. An air/electric shifter helps a ton with 60 foot times? Does not having to put your legs up on the pegs right away help you feel in control of your bike when you're riding it hard? I ask because believe it or not, on this island there were only two ZX14's. First there was mine. Then someone else got theirs and they ended up putting it on the track first, before me, and they ended up crashing halfway down the track. Don't know what happened. Whitnesses say it looked like his back tire lost traction halfway down the track and he wobbled and fell. To me, it could have been he had his wheelie wheels too low and when it struck the ground, the impact might have caused his back tire to lose some of the weight. Anyway, what happened to your swingarm and how much of an advantage is it to have an air shifter? Thanks for all your help.

An air shifter helps me because i have a bad hip and have a hard time getting my feet back on the pegs ... I run about a tenth faster with the air shifter over foot shiting .. I went back to stock wheel base because it's fun, i was getting a bit bored at 64 inch wheel base .. You have to challenge yourself from time to time or life gets dull.. ..
