need some more help please!!!!

at the end of last summer i got ran off the road on my 14, and went in a ditch and hit a drain tile, this is explained in more detail in a post i put up last summer, anyways, i finally got new chrome wheels with new shinko stealth tires from and rear, new exhaust and a new radiator. i got it all back together sunday and heres my problem, the bike is trying to "tank slap" is what ive heard it called, the handlebars move back and forth and shake the bike horribly, basically its not safe to ride. it does it on accel but it does it really bad when you rev it out and let the motor hold it back and lightly hold the grips. any idea what it could be??? any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated, money was tight this year and i was so happy to get her goin again and now its chillin in the garage on a 90 degree day

Im not an expert but sounds like a fork problem, maybe bent or something. And check the neck of the frame for damage i have seen them not break but fold up and crack. That would proly cause it.

i was thinking it was a fork problem as well, i did inspect the neck and didnt see any cracks, folds or pinches of any kind, kawasaki just sent me a recal notice on the frame last week, hopefully they will just replace it anyways, just didnt wanna take it in before i get to ride it a few times

Have always fixed tank slap with a new front tire. Had the problem real bad with stock tires, went to Michlin front and rear and now you can take your hands off any speed. Make sure your forks don"t have slop or a loose swing arm, bad bearings because of broken races.etc. With the new tires you have on, are they matched? Is your front wheel pointing in the same direction as the rear and are they parallel to each other? After an accident you can't rule anything out.

Take your bike in to a dealer NOW. You either screwed up the tire n rim install, or have a alignment problem, or bent forks. Either way, they should be able to quickly (ie. cheaply) tell you whats wrong.

Could be as simple as having to unbind your forks at the triple clamps and reclamp them. (used that fix twice now on bikes that were in minor crashes and didnt ride right afterwards). Your life aint worth the $100-150 it will cost to have it looked over.

No problem brother! Don't get me wrong, I'm a diehard backyard mechanic, too. But sometimes there is stuff that a certified mechanic in a well equiped shop needs to take care off if you want it done right.
