get a picture of a 1990 ZX-7 with the green, white, and blue paint scheme....I just loved that paint job on those.....clean, loud, but not too busy

or, paint it Alpine Pearl white with a charcoal black lower fairing and a charcoal stripe up the rear side pieces. Seperate the white and the charcoal with a pinstripe of red. Kind of like the 1989 kawasaki limited edition 600r

I would *never* paint a bike in anything other than the stock color, or adorn it with stupid stickers. I need to be able to sell it when I purchase the 2010 ZX15....

Mine is different, still working on it; needs Carrozeria wheels (gold) and new decals. It's already got everything else. FYI - I painted it in my garage for under $200 bucks!

The pictures above look cheesy cause i used microsoft paint and the shades are way off. I basically colored on a picture of my bike. The guy that's painting my bike has worked at a jaguar dealership as a painter since 1986. The paint that he will use is the same paint that a authorized jaguar dealership must used as per jaguar requirements. It will be be a base coat / clearcoat with 3 - 4 layers. His Jaguar certification is hanging on the dealership wall, apparently the paint will be top notch, good enough for a jag, should be good enough for a kawa lol. He is a friend of a friend and if i can't trust his work, then who can you trust? The dude apparently can paint. He guaranteed a better job then what came out of the factory. every rock won't leave a chip.

Nothing wrong with a new paint job and I agree, it'll probably turn out to be more durable than the factory paint. The factory paint is simply too thin and doesn't hold up that great; at least the flat colors, not sure about the metal flakes. I would probably stay away from white though since to me it doesn't look that good on the ZX-14, but I also didn't care much for the Pearl White Busa's either a few yrs back. The best part from your wreck though is that now you can do something totally custom and one off which is cool. Do yourself a favor and take a look at some paint samples / chips which any paint shop would have, also talk to the painter as he'll usually have some really good ideas and usually will know what'll look sharp compared to what won't. Here's a friends ZX-10 that I painted last yr; perhaps you'll like this? It's an Ocean Blue w/ all the metal parts powdercoated in Fluorescent Yellow. It's not everybodies cup of tea but I can say there aren't many bikes like it and it looks great in person.

Good Luck!
Phil

dont know about the paint, i like the stock red and white, then put a a real flame job on it intead of the facory tape. another thing post vertical instead of horizontal. it would be easier to follow.keeping it all on the screen imho.
