Great deal my 07 14 for 08 busa?

We just traded a 08 busa in black and orange with only 200 miles. Only mod done is two brothers carbon slips ons. Guy traded it on a car. I had a busa before my 14 and liked it. I did ride the busa and can tell you the bike is smooth as hell. Almost more than my 14. My 14 has 7800 miles, a full tskugi system, pc111, aftermarket screen. Im thinking I could probably trade for about a grand to 1500. What do you guys think about that deal?

I don't think you can go wrong with either bike so I guess it just comes down to which one feels best to you.

I know I cant go wrong with either bike the point is going up one year and down 8k for only around a grand cant be beat. I hate to say it but the busa feels faster even though I have a full system pc and down 1 tooth in front. I will say the busa hands down handles better than the 14. Not even close. And I own a 14 and like it.

Not heard many people say the handling on the 08 'Busa is better than a 14. Does your Kawasaki need new tires?

Well Budwardo... maybe you should have written the reviews that were in the magazines... they were obviously misinformed if your piped (etc) 14 is slower than the factory Busa... and the handling was, "hands down better"... "not even close"... I realize that you are sharing your personal opinion... but you are talking trash on this forum... I have no idea why... maybe it is because of the deal you can get. I agree IF what you have told us is true... that is a great deal. Your 14 is only worth about $6500.00 and the Busa is in the $8 to $10 grand... Why would you ask here?? Seems that you have some other motive. If not... then I am wrong... and I will say sorry up front... but this whole post doesn't make sense... I have not heard anyone with any true knowledge of both bikes say either one is faster or better handling as you say. Better for you maybe... Regardless buy and ride what you like... I just felt I had to speak my take on your post...

100% I would give the Busa a try. Especially since you had one before and know what to expect.

I am not saying the 14 is not a great bike, my company owns a kawi honda dealership. In fact I am there every day. I have rode the new cbr new zx10 and now just had the chance to ride a new 08 busa like I said. I have owned many 1000s gen 1 busas and now have a 14 with the mods I listed. I have done track days and even been to a drag strip a few times. All I am saying is that the new busa is a lot faster than the gen 1. And yes I rode both bikes my 14 and this 08 busa back to back same road, same day. And I will tell you that the busa handles much more like a sport bike vs sport tourer on the 14. I have brand new diablo corsa 3s 190/55 on the back so my tires on the 14 are better than the stock busa rubber. I LOVE my 14 I just have an chance to move up for cheap money. And yes a 07 zx 14 with my mods and 8k is only worth 6-6500 on the wholesale market. I know I trade them all the time. I am not bashing the 14 just wanted to see if anyone has gone from a 14 to a new busa and what they think. Did not want to offend anyone.

Someone thinks pretty highly of an 07 ZX w/8k miles and lower of a 200 mi new Busa. Swap it around and say it was an 07 Busa and a new ZX. Still think a grand extra would buy it? The story sounds fishy imho.

I agree with Budwardo My 08 Busa handles way better then my 14 did. But maybe it's a weight thing. I'm 205. My 14 actually, no Bull shit was the worst handling bike I have had. I even made a couple post about it before buying my 08 Busa. I almost think the shock or fork was screwed up from day one. And I know how to ride so it was not me. Never felt safe in high speed turns

I have an 08 14 and had a 08 busa rider tell me he didn't know the 14 could handle? well I guess after watching me in a few turns he was a believer..Bently sounds like your suspension was not right. My 14 handles just fine, and with a few upgrades(springs front and rear) should handle my 265lbs even better,,Cheers

Most dealers I know would do the 07 14 (doesn't matter what extras it had) would want $3800.00 to boot on a new busa..at least

I have seen 5 people that had 08 busas get rid off them and buy a zx14 ... Different stokes for different folks ... I couldn't tell you if a Busa handles better than a zx14 because there are not many turns at the drag strip I do know i can stay on my zx14 for hours with no pain and could only stand an hour or so on my 99 and 05 Busa before i was dead meat .. .... And while some people feel their butt dyno tells them an 08 busa is faster than a zx14 the track numbers do not back up that feeling .. I was offered an 08 busa by a local dealer and the price was super low ( allmost didn't want to pass it up ) The dealer has 22 of them and needs to move them ASAP ... But after riding one i knew i would not be happy at any price ... I'll keep my 6800 dollar 06 zx14 till something better comes along ....

That sound about right... cost on a new busa is not that much more then a 14 I would think the difference in wholesale values would be about 2500 and if you work at the dealership they should give you extra for your pipe and stuff. If you get the busa let us know what you think about it

My track numbers are the same, it's no faster but not one bit slower either. To bad your dealer is so far away we could use about 10 more. we have a waiting list for the 09s already.

I was really thinking of trading the 14 for an 08 Busa. My girlfriend just got a turbo busa, and I really like the bike. But the best they would do for me around here is my 1k mile 07 +$5100 out the door for the Busa.

There is no way I can justify that price difference.

I have a 08 14, My pops has a 00 Busa, A couple of my club members have the 08 Busa. I can say that since i rode the gen 1 and gen 2 busa the handling is not way better. My 14 is stretched and I still can't say the handling is way better. I don't know if this is me being proud of the purchase that I made or what. I just cannot justify that statement that was made about the handling on the Busa was way better.

Don't know about the street, but at the track, the Busa and the 14 are really close, maybe, Wheelie will chime in, he had an '06 14, now an '08 Busa with virtually the same mods. Btw

the 08 busa that i ran against wasn't shit. My very first time at the track i was running faster times than he was. (he did have about 60 lbs on me though) The only way that he ran faster times than me was to spray. did i mention that i'm bone stock and he has a pipe, pc3, stretched, strapped and lowered? I dare say that my bike has more potential without going into the internals too.

The busa handles a little better but it isn't any faster. The speed wars have come to a grinding halt
