Alot of cops are adrenaline junkies also. Many love a good chase and when you think about it, no HD is gonna run. First off, he proably could'nt get away, secondly, if he did, you could track the Harley for miles just by rolling down the window and listening. Now a ZX14, whoa, what a feather in your cap to brag you just canned a 186 mph bike. Then again, how many times do you think these cops get smoked. Knowing they have a small chance of catching a ZX proably pisses a bunch of those coppers off big time!

Don't think it was because it was a Ninja. If he had a trainee with him, as you said, he was just using you as a training example. Wrong place right time. He probably said if you follow anyone for long enough sooner or later you'll get him for something.

In my state it's not a law to put your foot down at a stop sign, only a complete stop. Even in the MSF course they teach you that you can come to a complete stop without putting your foot down, though it's not encouraged. I'd check in to your state's laws, you might have a case on your hand. Any motorcycle cop should be able to testify that you can stop completely without putting a foot down.

Bob C, I 2nd that motion- This cop I think was just setting an example of a traffic stop. However with that said, Smooth G you mentioned that this school zone was a hot spot. If you suspect that an officer maybe present, try to follow every rule to a tee. Easier said than done but everyone have that/those guy(s) at work that are meticulously anal about their job and the rules/procedures governing. Well, being a police officer is a job and you will definitely have those personalities reflecting their interpretation of proper protocol... Ride safe and I hope everything works out for ya!!! For real!

I had a cop pull me over and ticket me for not putting my foot down. I made a video, and went to court....the judge dismissed the ticket outright.
I don't think it's law to put your foot down in any state, but just to make sure you come to a complete stop.

my grandpa beat that exact ticket in court representing himself lmfao. At one point the judge asked him "just what makes you think that i would believe that you could stop without putting your feet down" my grandpa replied "well, i had the 2nd motorcycle license issued in the state of texas and have been riding since whatever year he started in" something like 50 years or someshit lol. He was a chief union stuard for years and years, so he knows how to talk to people. He had them so screwed up in there that they didn't know their ass from a hole in the ground.
FIGHT IT!!!

Try to get the law written for motorcycles stopping at a stop sign in your state...If it does not mention anything about putting your foot down then your ok...If it does then tell the judge that you came to a full stop and did put your foot down close to the bike!!!
