It was around 455 lbs with 2 gallons of fuel. Perhaps a little less.

A little porky, imo...but it will be lighter next time out.

Hi shane, sorry for the impromtu Q&A, needed to ask ur advice on stacks. I've got a 17/43 gearing setup, so considering that the 2 teeth up takes care of the initial, hence the top end stack would be apt to go in for or still the mid range ones. Please advice

I wouldn't hesitate the stick with the stock stacks, but if you really are inclined to change them I would do the shorter ones. My dyno testing showed that the short stacks did raise the torque peak a few hundred rpm. But the curve on top looked the same. The only caveat is that the test were done with different fuel..pump vs. MR9...so I can't compare HP #'s, only the shapes of the curves.

My bike could have benefitted from more testing in that area. Also, my intakes were horribly mismatched at the head.

hmmm, now i've gone by using the logic that 43 teeth rear takes care of my initial + i got the flies out too, so the balance i can utilize for top end gain... but dam if the top end factory pro aint gonna help then it'll be a total waste of money. next time i gota check on data rather than logic

To really know for sure you would have to bite the bullet and buy them. Then map them based on feedback from your data logger, out on the road/track. I don't think they will hurt you on top, but I am just not sure of how much they help. The part I don't like about them is that they have zero taper, unlike the stock stacks.

That's not to say that you won't see a gain, but you have to test it to be sure. My bike went pretty fast with them, but I don't have any back-to-back data to compare.

The never-started 2x5 motor is in the classifieds now:

Other commitments may not allow me to finish the bike at this time.

I mistakenly thought I had posted the onboard video of Bill Warner's 278 mph run. Well, here it is:

Watch how hard it is still accelerating over 250 mph! Amazing bike/rider/engine combo...

Shane

Am I wrong or does this bike have 7 gears?

Not sure this is the right place for this but you're both wrong!
Just after the launch it sounds like the tyre spinning up and Bill gets out of the throttle.
It's not a gear change.
Imagine that. 278mph of a poor launch. .

I am bumping this thread for some of the newer forum members. I have reloaded the picture data to my webspace (over 900 photos). There is a lot of data here, including the weights of most of the major components of the bike, comparison data, dyno, top speed, 1/4 mile, etc.. This thread has more than 160,000 views, and it has helped many.

This one has to be second best. The ZX14 HT thread is the most amazing, innovative, yada-yada build thread ever!

How were parts robbed? I fucking hate theives!!!

You had the bike build elsewhere and others had access to the building?

IMO this thread would have be a sort of - Mod/Add on - bible for the ZX14.
Lots of work and photo's, nevermind the cost. Proofing costs money and time.

Not literally "robbed", but used on our other bikes. For example, I had to use the injectors in Racheal's 14, which meant the fuel system had to come out. It was very close to being started prior to that...just a few little pieces in the oiling system needed installed.
