I sent out a spare cylinder head for some work. Jim at Competiton CNC provided the services:

This head was configured to get the most out of an otherwise stock engine. The mods are as follows:
1) High flow valve job with wider "nitrous cut" on the exhaust seat
A good valve job definitely will free up some hp. The seats are cut sligtly wider on the exhaust side of my setup, to allow for better heat dissipation while spraying nitrous.
2) Stage 2 CNC Port
The Stage 2 port will give up a little power down low, but make it up on top. However, with the increased compression due to the milling, I really won't be losing anything down low compared to the standard head.
3) .030 Flat Mill
There are a variety of milling options. My mill falls about in the middle. I will still get a significant gain in compression (should be around 13:1), but it is not quite as radical as the angle mill that they do for Supersport bikes. This also gives me a little room to resurface later, should the need arise.
4) Matched intake boots
Intake boots are hand-matched to the head, for optimum flow.
5) Shimmed Stock Springs
Jim also took the time to shim my stock valve springs for a little more pressure on the seat. Again, this setup is designed for stock cams. With stock cams you don't really need the huge seat pressures, and it will cost you some hp and also wear parts out more quickly.
I am hoping to see 15+ hp with this head and the oversize throttle bodies. That would put me at 200+ hp SAE on race fuel. By comparison, the bike made around 175 hp SAE on pump fuel, with Brock's exhaust and BMC filter, on the stock setup. As usual, I am still pondering some details and this head could end up on an internally modfied engine. It just depends on time and money...

Jim does good work. Was really pleased with the machine work he did on the modded ZX-12 CCT he machined for me. Will you say how much "Spray" you are going to use?? :-)

If I leave it stock internally, no more than 40 hp.

I bet you get closer to 25+hp out of your package with the 46 or 47mm throttle bodies, with the .030 flat mill you will be able to play with cam timing a lot easier and take advantage of the porting, with the change in cam timing Jim said to try, I picked up another 4hp after tuning for a total of 20hp, 180 hp SAE to 200.3hp SAE.

I also have an R&D Pro Cut trans waiting for installation:

Undercut with Pro Cut for reduced kill time on the airshifter. Nitrous mod for shift drum, billet shift shafts, and heavy duty detent spring.

I was listening to a guy with a prostreet bike on Sunday and he is running the same trans in his Busa and he said it has lasted 4 years so far. Nice purchase man, I am jealous.

Thanks. Even though there are only 864 pics in the thread, I have probably taken over 2500 along the way. They are posted at about 20-25% of their original size. The camera is a cheap Kodak (sometimes I do use the cheap Fuji, though).

The two faces shown here are cut at an angle in order to improve shifting under racing conditions:

The "Standard Undercut" is a typical street/dragstrip mod. The "Pro Cut" is more of a racing-only mod as it can affect downshifting.

The bike is approximately 455 lbs. with 1.5 gallons of gas in it, in last year's configuration. It will be lighter with the new tank and a few other mods.
A stock bike would be around 535 with a similar amount of fuel. So, my setup is roughly 80 lbs. lighter than stock.

i come to shitt all over your thread ..
tell me again you 220lb fucker about weight .. so take 80lbs off your ass and add to bike then you should have times like a 140lb jockey...not counting your bike MODS .. you sux fucker and have no talent . no need to explain .

A typical stripped down ZX-14 would weigh about 485-505 lbs. The fastest guys on here are perhaps 150 lbs suited. I am typically 225-230 suited. So, even with my lightweight bike I outweigh them by near 30 lbs or so. In addition, at 6' 1", I carry much more weight up high on the bike, which makes it more wheelie prone. As you know, it is not just just the weight of the bike...but also where it carries the weight.
Nonetheless, I never claimed to be as quick as a jockey. At the same time, consistent 9.0-9.05@150-152 is not too bad for an average guy on a stock motor at just under 65". I'll even settle for my mid 1.4 60's. And, I'm happy to say that I did crack into the 8's last year as well.
Thanks for contributing.
