I didn't realize that I had left the video "private". Due to popular demand I have released it to the public.

Shane, nice hot rod.Perhaps if you could work on your 60' times the 8s will come easy. Not sure what your 1320 rpms are but I would think a small gear change would be of help, from the looks of things you know what your doing.

Time for a rear tire change:
Power Race 190/50/17:
This tire has about 150 dragstrip passes, 50 miles of top speed LSR runs, and a couple of hundred street miles. Plus around 50-60 dyno pulls. I figured it was a good time to change it since I could be looking at 40 passes this Saturday (and dyno time tomorrow).
Replacement tire, Power One 180/55/17:
It seems that the Power One is about 1 lb. lighter than the Power Race. This was verified on a UPS scale which weighed my Power Race at 13 lbs and the Power One at 12 lbs. The shipping weight of the Power One is listed as 11.6 lbs, and I think the UPS scales read a little high, based on my own results with two different scales.
The Power One has a much more flexible carcass, which should be good for drag racing.
The circumference of this tire measured at 79" on the 6" rim.

It is the standard street Power One. It has a more flexible carcass than the race version. This is the same tire being used on 7 second Pro Street bikes.

So, I took the bike in for some dyno tuning. I'll avoid the long story...but suffice it to say that I had to take the bike in twice due to my own errors. I had some airbox and throttle body leaks, from a rushed assembly of parts.
I took the bike to RnR Cycles in Sterling, Virginia:
Rick Beggs is the shop owner and he is a great guy to deal with. I was pressed for time this week, and he even offered to look at the bike on Thanksgiving Day. I don't think you can beat that level of service.
When I took the bike in, I knew that I wasn't going to focus on "big" dyno numbers. I have been told by several good tuners that what looks best on the dyno is not usually the best for real world performance.
With that being said, here is my "big" dyno number:
Bike setup is MR9 Fuel, Brock's CT Header (no muffler), Factory Pro Short Stacks, No Air Filter. I could just leave it at that...and it would certainly be a very respectable #.
Now, that pull looks great on paper...and I am sure it would run fantastic as well. But I wanted a little more fuel, for racing. I had been running the Brock's Maxton Map for most of the season. My new map is similar in peak power, but should be better at the track. The weak, and overly rich spots are gone...and there is significantly more torque in some lower rpm areas.
I think that the combination of short velocity stacks and no muffler is not the best for smooth power delivery down low. We'll see at the track tomorrow.
As an added bonus, my Ti pipe is now nicely colored:
My Power One is also broken in:
This tire gets very sticky, and I bet it won't need a long burnout at all.
Anyway, lots of work to do in the (cold) garage. More updates tomorrow evening when I get home from the track.

Hey guys. I'll make this long story short: I got my 8 second slips.
Here are the time slips :
I was pretty rusty since I had not been to the track in about 8 weeks. Nonetheless, I still got it done The air was excellent (-427 DA when I ran the 8.93), but the bike didn't seem to respond with mph. I tried a couple of different maps, but didn't see the mph I wanted. I think I could use a proper muffler, and perhaps a return to the stock velocity stacks. We also had some pretty good crosswinds which likely robbed some mph at times.
Overall though, I have to be happy with the ET’s. I know there are more in store from here on out. Here is my last pass of the day, and of the season:

Good job Shane. I agree with you on the mph. With that DA and your total static weight, I would think 30mph would be the backhalf gain every pass.

Considering that I ran many, many 152's at 900 ft. DA or more...I was definitely expecting about 154 or so. But, as I say, I think that my intake/exhaust setup is less than optimum. I will find that missing mph in the offseason.

CONGRATS on the 8's!
Doesn't that deserve a dedicated thread? ____________
You only need two tools: WD-40 and Duct Tape.
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD-40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.

congrats on the 8's man, great job, what do u weigh, u dont look like a small guy, bout 215 or so? Did yall rent the track for the day, what was that 12 running that i c comin back as u took off in ur video? Also does ur right foot get warm, looks like ur exhaust is blowin right on ur leg, lol, sounds awesome though. Did u try the map the guy did for the 190hp dyno run that day at the track, just curious to see what difference that map wouldve been compared to the richer maps u later put in

The dude he was arguing wit was on a zx10 n went 8.87 at 156 foot shifting, that busa went 8.88 wit a multistage lockup n air shifter,

I was 225 lbs. suited up yesterday. You know what, I didn't get to try the 190 hp map! I did the RnR Cycles wot map, and the Brock's streetmeg race/no baffle map. I had actually planned to switch the 190 hp map...but then forgot at the very end of the day. The time tickets were printing 1 hour off, so I kept thinking the day was near over...
The 12R went a 9.26 with +4.5" wheelbase. The rider is about 165 lbs. suited. I never noticed any heat from the pipe...but I did feel an occasional backfire when airshifting.
